So you were on the right track here...though the plastic should have had a channel cut out for the MQ1....if you look at the back of the ROTJ helmet in MOM you can see kinda how it was done..and in the ROTJ gallery you can look also...inside the helmet...

That would make for a better fit, thanks Brother. i never noticed that channel for the MQ-1, i always thought it was half and half.

I've always meant to do a rotj helmet assembly tutorial for people with mq1 castings....and just never got around to it. But yeh...it makes for a cleaner install to no glue on the edges.
