For ROTJ you want them more or less stacked centered. In some photos of the stunt costume the girth is slipping down (it tends to want to do this) but it's supposed to be stacked centered for ROTJ,

As far as the sizing goes, I would recommend revisiting that once you have cod and kidney armor. It will change where the belts sit on you and the overall sizing. For you, I would bet it shifts the girth belt higher up on your hips which may close up the gap more.
I ended up having to size up in girth belt because I did not measure with armor, but I did special edition which overlaps the armor more.

Aaaaaah. I see. I had the reference shot from behind, where the belts were behaving badly. I may curl up and cry if I have to find another belt

Progress has all but ground to a halt. The local guy who's meant to be making my armour freely admits he's made no progress. I've finally given up and opened a Paypal dispute against Woody Howton for the braids. He's completely ignoring messages and it's been 6 months since I placed the order. His braids may have once been considered the best in the industry but he's dropped his game and will now take a small fortune from you to not deliver a product.

On a positive note, another aspiring Boba and I managed to meet up when he was in Queensland and we've swapped girth belts. His was a bit too big for him and mine was going to be too short despite the weightloss (15kg so far, woot!) So at least something is going right.

Close enough? I know they're not great, but hopefully they'll do. Going to try to learn how to do pineapple knots with some leather lace I found, as well as add some red cotton wraps and I think there might be some white involved somewhere too. Made from artificial hair, original braids were sourced from ebay (just put in ROTJ braids and they should come up). I had to buy both the ROTJ and ESB sets from the seller to get the correct colours, but i'll use the spare braids on the custom mando.
