Opinions requested: Reference- Mandalorian ear pieces.

After careful study of the D23 Mandalorian helmet photos, I noticed paint scratches just below the top 2 ear pieces which could mean that they could slide from their current locked position to a down position.
Also there are 2 holes on the bottom of each top ear piece which look like they are actually a perfect fit for the 2 prongs located below each earpiece if they were moved to a locked down position.
Any expert opinions?
Any helmet builds out there that incorporate a moveable top ear piece that slides?

I think Bobamakers are a two piece upper ear cap construction
