Hi All,

Just popping in to see how this community is doing. Also thought I would share my MSH-1 that was hand-painted by AFF$. I acquired this like 13-14 years ago. Does it still hold legend status or is it obsolete now?

Somewhat interested in figuring out how to pad/line the inside to make it more wearable.

OMG, a MSH-1! It's like a Back from the Future scene! It's worth something as a piece of history, but not regarding accuracy.

Here is what I bought.

This is how I have it laid out.

There are numerous other ways to do it. Hope this helps.

When I got this, MSH stood for "Movie Size Helmet." Is that the same thing?

I thought you were referring to Marrow Sun Helmet. I believe that a 1st and 2nd version were made.
I believe mine is the 1st version..

Nah, Your helmet is the one that was sculpted by Natty15D using the laser measurements taken by hand from helmet when it was traveling with Art of Star Wars (I think).

The Marrow Sun is a helmet that was released later.

I don't think so. I purchased this in 2007 from DarthMiller for Halloween. He advertised it as a MSH-1. Here is a thread where he calls it so, and it looks spot on to mine.

Here is the thread of AFF$ making it, and I'm pretty sure it's the same one as all the paint detail seems to be a perfect match. Considering it's hand painted. I don't think that would be possible to do twice.

This was my full costume in case anyone wanted to see it. Yeah I know it's an ESB bucket with ROTJ richies armor set. Halloween was too close to be OCD about it. Added the Fettronics LED to it myself.

The history I gave is the history of the MSH-1. Which is what your helmet is.

For a while it was the cream of the crop.

I personally found hard hat liner the best for making the helmet more wearable.

I remember that being an option back when I was researching it. I felt that it would wobble though, as it did with the little foam I put in the top. Did you have the other way prior? If so, was it uncomfortable or something? Took it out, but I did have a CPU fan in mine. Actually just one bigger one that's for a case I think. Those definitely make things better.
