My Life-Sized Kenner Boba Fett Action Figure - VER 2 - NEW DESIGN

I'm excited to finally share my version of this life-sized Boba Fett Kenner action figure. laellee has done a fantastic job on this model and I can't wait to finish it. To preface, I take nothing away from the current model that is available on Etsy, that designer made an incredible figure! But my model is going to have a few differences. I recognize everyone has their own preferences when it comes to builds like these, but based on the figures I've already built, these features are what work best for me.

1) This is not a "stylized" version of Boba Fett. Like my other models, this was made using actual scans of a 3.75 inch figure. It will not have some of the clean lines as seen on the other model, but it will be a more accurate and faithful representation of the vintage action figure.

2) The arms and legs of this figure are poseable in 15 degree increments. Just slide the arms out, adjust the positioning, and slide them back in. We came up with system that allows for greater options when posing the figure.

3) We did not use mortice and tenon style joints for three reasons; 1) The 5mm rods are more durable and less susceptible to shear force, 2) the rods are easier to work with (in my opinion), and 3) many of the pieces have flat faces that make printing a whole lot easier and faster with less supports needed.

4) The jetpack is not a separate unit, it will print with the back pieces which should make assembly easier (although it might be a tiny bit less convenient for painting because there will be a little more masking). Same with the armor, it will print with the body pieces. The idea is to make the body less modular and a bit more solid.

5) The rocket will fire like the original non-released prototype, using a J-slot design.

6) Because PLA/ABS is not flexible like the plastic used in the original action figures, we took a liberty with the right hand and made a cutout of the blaster handle so it slides in seamlessly. One of these days I'll experiment with a TPU type filament and try that for the hand.

7) The gauntlets are separated from the upper arm and hand for easy painting.

8) He'll stand about 6 feet tall.

Once I start selling the file set, I will include uncut parts for those who have larger printers or for anyone who wants to make a smaller scale figure.

I think that about sums it up. I'm currently in the process of printing this figure now, the first foot looks great! Once I finish and make, if needed, any adjustments, I'll have this file set available.

Thanks!
