Murphoid ESB cape Interest Thread

Alright guys, its about time I get around to posting this. I would like to able to offer one of the most accurate ESB capes currently available to my brothers and sisters here on TDH. That explains my thread earlier last week about the seam/thread run/fold line. I've been doing research on the colors of the cape, and have come to think that instead of tan, which is what a lot of replica capes are colored, that the main sections are more of a slightly greenish, khaki color.

Here are some shots that I had taken by a friend to show off the cape in detail:

Take notice in this picture that it was before I hemmed the bottom of the cape, so its much longer than it should be. I stand at 5' 11" and the bottom of the cape now rests directly on the knuckles of my left hand.

However, due to the fact that Wal-Mart has stopped carrying fabrics in most places, I really don't have a projected number for the project. :facepalm I have enough fabric stored up to make at least five capes for sure, beyond that is really a shot in the dark. Because of this, the interest will be limited to ten spots for the time being, and payment will only be accepted when the cape is done and ready to be shipped to its new owner.

Price will be $40 shipped, but I'm open to any trades and offers, because I know what its like to be budgeted. :cheers

1. 99CentTaco (Trade for ESB ammo belt) - Shipped - Received
2. CombatBaby - Shipped - Recieved
3. SlabFett - Shipped
4. Studio Fett - In Progress
5. fettpride - Seamed version - In Progress

-OVERDRAFT (To be made when I have enough fabric to finish ):

6. DisposablHero
7. Christian
8. WetOkole
9. soopertrooper
10. Galactic Bounty Hunter - Seamed version
11. Tk5019

Due to the process of creating the orange stripe, which involves the once readily available brown canvas and bleach, the darkness of the orange MAY slightly vary from cape to cape, but I can promise that any that look too dark will be fixed, and any that look too light will be trashed.
Also, thought that I would mention that I'll be happy to add the seam, fold line, or thread run (actually still have to test this one) for anyone who wishes for no extra cost, and that the capes will come weathered unless otherwise requested by anyone who wishes to do the dirtying themselves.

PM me for details or questions! :D

Murph, that's a nice looking cape. I do have one constructive observation though. As was discussed in a number of other threads, I do not believe that the "stripe" being separate fabric from the cape.

I agree with you 100% on that, but are there any vendors currently selling a one piece ESB cape?

I don't think there are Murph. I don't think there will be either, until we get some insight into what exact fabric was used, and how the stripe got there. Again, that's a nice looking cape though.

Color me interested ! Outstanding job man !

Oh, And I didn't forget about your part. Sorry for the delay. Could you PM your addy?

Thanks

FP

Agreed. Maybe we should find someone who could loom some wool cloaks to the ESB cape specifications, because its always looked a whole lot like a cut up military blanket, to me. Thanks for the comments!

I'd like to get one of these!....and pardon my newbieness but what seam/fold? I've not put much priority on the cape yet so I"ve not studied it, right now I just want to get to work on my JP but I'm always keeping my eyes open for other parts I need.

Wow, beautiful cape! If I was Esb I would have to get me one.

Hey thanks, brother!

Got you on the list. Here's the thread on the seam/fold/pull in question.
