Murphoid ESB cape Interest Thread

Got my cape and it is Amazing!!! Thanks soo much!

I'm really glad you like it, bro! Post some pics of you with it on! :D

Cupluv, I got your PM, and thought I would reply here to answer you and anyone who wonders: like I said in the first post, I won't take any kind of payment until I have your cape made and ready to be shipped.

Awesome cape. Is it acceptable to inquire about how people make an item or where they got the materials? I don't want to sound rude or kill business...but there are a lot of great items I see on the board that I could make myself if I had access to the materials (like this cape for example)

I just don't want to ruffle feathers so I thought I'd ask about board etiquette first. Thanks!

There are some vendors across the various costuming an prop forums that may consider it a bit taboo to ask about materials and methods (significantly less on The Dented Helmet), but I certainly don't make a point to horde information. All the materials used in the process of making my cape can be found at Wal*Mart, although, like I said in the first post, finding a Wal*Mart that still carries fabric is an altogether different story. :facepalm

If you're really interested, shoot me a PM and I can give you some more detailed info about the process.

Why I'm flattered, bro! :love:D I can't wait to see it with the rest of your suit.

As long as there is interest, and as long as I can get my mitts on the fabric, these will continue to be available.

How is the cape project going...can we get an update

Thanks to the generosity of a friend here on the boards, I've been able to get a hold of some orange duck cloth which will relieve me from bleaching brown canvas, thus cutting production time way down. As soon as that arrives in the mail, production will start back up and capes will start going out.

Consider yourself updated!

Sweet~! Can't wait brother!

Listed updated above.

Unfortunately, it looks like I drastically underestimated the amount of fabric I had and am only going to be able to finish two more, BUT I have a possible supplier lined up so I am staying optimistic about things. I'll update those left on the list as soon as I have word.
