As i was looking to the hi res pics that i took at the Star Wars exhibition... i noticed this while looking at this pic....

It seems like if the center part, the diamond, has a hole in the middle... and then filled up with something.. :wacko

I think that this is just the glue that was left behind after the piece of silver had fallen off from the centre. I could be wrong...

Could be...

But look at the right top corner... it seems like if there is a hole...

maybe like you said, there was a silver piece glued.....
