Girth Belt HOW TO Accurately Strap and Secure the ESB Girth Belt

Someone asked earlier, but didn't see confirmation that this is the same approach for ROTJ? The CRL on the 501st is inconclusive... and yes, this is a thread I totally did not know that I needed but found incredibly valuable. I'm starting a build for a life size prop replica, so I should have no problem putting it on the mannequin when the time comes now!

Pretty sure I wasted about 2 hours of my life last night trying to eyeball how the straps connected per OG images. I thought these were elastic bands. Glad I checked on here. Ordered my Nylon straps today. Going to tackle this project this weekend. Thanks for the write up jbdubz. Clutch!

Done ! Thanks for the tips !
Used elastic strap in order to step in and not redo it each time.

jbdubz can you confirm that this is the same with ROTJ?

Based on the limited references from the back, i would say that utilized a similar strapping approach, however it does differ from scene to scene. They put it on Glenn inside out and backwards, but it seems to be the same method as ESB that was somewhat attempted.

In another skiff scene, the strapping starts on the right buckles, attached to the outer frame of the buckle, secures with the left buckle prongs, then disappears beneath the girth on the left side instead of wrapping back around, under the top strap, to the underside on the right as seen in ESB (the one shot we have at least).

It is very possible that they ditched the added thread-around-and-under step and opted for the easier secure-and-tuck approach for ROTJ. Maybe due to sizing differences? That would be my guess. The only things we know for certain is that black straps were used and they attached to one side of buckles similarly to ESB. Honestly, I believe the ROTJ Hero girth was the ESB girth, just in different lighting...
