Damage advise question

I have cut out my chest armour from a hard plastic bucket that I found in a local hardware store. I think it looks ok shape wise and am ready to start adding the damage to it.
My problem now is that having never done anything like this before I am unsure as to the best way to do this?
Could any one offer any advise that may help?
I’ll post a pic of it then you can all tell me if there is anything I can do to make it better/more accurate.

For the dents, I used a dremel tool to get the basic shape and depth of the dent, then sanded the crap out of it to smooth it out and kind of bevel the edges, so it looks more like a dent than a hole.

What I have been doing is using my dremel with the sanding drum and sanding a dent into it. Then I coat the inside of the dent with spot putty, let it dry, then sand out the dent by hand to make it smooth. I've been real happy with the results

For the blaster pock marks, you may try a blow dryer and the butt of a screwdriver. I haven't tried this, but I will here in a couple of days.

I used a dremel without an attachment for my sintra armor. Worked well.

using a hairdryer and butt of a screwdriver is an ideal way of making realistic dents- I did this myself and it looks good! Also, you may want to sand the sharp edges from your armour to give it a worn look, and make it less angular.
