CNC + SINTRA = GOOD STUFF

Prymer13

Well-Known Hunter
I have been playing around and modifying some templates that I have made using some of the extablished members' existing drawings. Anyways, I had printed these out, then mapped and entered everything into AUTOCAD. I offered them up some time ago and had several people that received them.

While this was great, I came to realize how time-consuming tracing and cutting everything out was. I have extensive CAD and some CNC programing experience so, when I had some free time and was able to join my efforts with a friend ... VIOLA!

A CNC PROGRAM to run on 3MM sintra!. We used a 60 degree bevel bit and set the depth so that it would leave a thin "SKIN" on the back that would keep all of the parts together and so they wouldn't shift, or get sucked into the router's vaccum :rolleyes
The best part? It takes 5 minutes to get a complete set of perfectly uniform beveled edge armor. You can either snap it out (but you get small micro fractures) or score in the bevel with a knife!

Let me know what you think:

Thanks for the compliment guys, I do have to say, I never would have made it this far without the originals made by Jodo_Kast. Plus the input of E2k13 and JFJ!

I love this community and the things we are capable of!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I have yet to work out pricing, but once I find out the shipping cost I'll post an interest list and the cost.

JK: I can send you the CAD file, but without knowing the the CNC brand or G-codes, the code would be a crap-shoot. Your guy should be able to use the CAD file with any conversion software. PM me and I can give you more details.

Hello :) ,I'm new here.Could you please send me that CAD file.We have a Komo VR Series VR 510 Innova router at work and i'd like to try my luck with it.Thanks.

I did not notice. thanks for letting me know Mullreel. I actually figured out a way to make the CAD/cut file for myself anyways. So if anyone needs the .ai or .eps file with cut lines for the Armor I can send it to yah! thanks!

I wouldn't mind taking a shot if you still have those files.
