Book of Boba Fett Trailer Helmet

Baruopa

Jr Hunter
So we finally got a trailer for the Book of Boba Fett this morning, and our first real look at new Boba. I was a little surprised, his helmet is CERTAINLY a different cast than we saw in the Mandalorian. What's everyone thinking about it? Where do you think this one comes from? If I'm correct it was pretty much agreed that the Mando S2 helmet originated from the Sideshow bust? Is this just an entirely new sculpt? Attaching pics for comparison. Eager to hear what you guys are thinking.

It almost looks like they’ve made it look more like Din Djarins helmet, thinner and longer. I noticed the difference between this and his original in esb straight away and it’s kinda taking me away from his whole look lol

Not sure if this has been pointed out anywhere else, but I just overlayed the straight on shot of the new helmet and the original ESB helmet, and it literally looks like they scanned the original and stretched it from top to bottom by about 10%. That’s why the eye gap is wider top to bottom, the cheeks are longer, the dome is the same shape but a tad elongated and the bottom of the front is a touch longer. I’m assuming to fit tem’s head better. I have a few different 3d models of the boba helmet so I’ll try doing this tomorrow.

Its definitly a new look. and a new cast.
The "cast" part of that statement still needs to be verified. Could well be that the printed that thing.

Well... so what do we make of it? Very interested how that "stretched ESB" thing turns out although I personally would be surprised if thats actually what they did.

And the whole thing.... I dont like it. Proportions seem off. But oh well... I absolutely dispised the Cobb Vanth look at first sight, too, and it grew massivley on me, so that by now it is my favorite new "Boba" version.
We'll see.

Here is an overlay of a custom model i made based on the boba fett helmet using measurements from an EFX. Note that i made this model to more closely resemble the 1313 concept art, thinner center visor and more taper on the sides. but its pretty close to the original. (I also just realized i made the range finder too short.)

You can see that the overlaid images on the original and the stretched 10% match pretty closely to the original and the new helmet respectively.
