That sounds easy - taking a drill to my lid is a fear I have to get over.

Haven’t focused much on the build cause I’ve been in the midst of what I like to call the “event gauntlet”. Easter, my wife and daughters birthday (both on May the 4th), nurses week (my wife is a nurse), then mother’s day. On top of that I also photograph weddings with my father who is a professional photographer, so this took a back seat for a bit. It’s ok tho, cause the weather here has not been very spring like yet, hahahaha!
Yes I understand about the weather I don’t know where you are but here in New Jersey it’s still not spring, unless you consider spring nothing but cold wet and clammy. As for the Dremel yes I guess you get over it after building a couple TK’s a clone a bunch of helmets and helping other people build. Hope you get back to it soon

Thank you for the kind words gents.

Last night I went to work on my LED light kit that I just received from crumdum . I asked him to provide me with the typical ROTJ bulb, but with the slide switch from Jango Fett. My plan is to create a piece to go over the slide switch that looks similar to reference photos of the left guantlet! I'm pretty sure this will work too!

The gauntlets from Fettpride came with the LED housing permanently fastened into the gauntlet, and the kit from Crumdum had a new housing as well. I decided to heat up the glue in the kit, remove the LED bulb from housing that Crumdum provided, and will be installing it into the gauntlet with the slide switch. Kind of a workaround of sorts, as are most things with what I received from Chris. He finished and assembled everything for me, and primed it all so it's ready for paint, BUT I wish some stuff wasn't already assembled cause it's proving to be difficult to re-work some items.

I shall persevere (and post photos tonight)...

I'm located in Upstate NY (Rochester), and it's just not getting nice enough out for a consistent period of time to paint anything...hahaha! Regarding the borden, after you drilled out that bad boy, how did you fasten the new one in place? Some type of puddy…?

I'm sorry you had problems with the light kit I made. I make it so the light should be easy to insert into just about any gauntlet. If you have problems please let me know.

Absolutely no problems with your kit; sorry if you misunderstood my post. My issue was with the gauntlet already having a housing permanently attached. Essentially all I needed from you was the switch and the bulb itself, not necessarily the threaded housing or nut. No biggie man - your kits are great!

I just used e6000 inside incase i did it wrong I would be able to break the seal pretty easily. Once I know it is good to go Im sure I can use the putty to reinforce it if I need to but the e6000 is working great.

So THIS is what I was referring to. The gauntlets came assembled and the light HOUSING is molded in. So I disassembled the light kit I received from crumdum (pulled the LED from the housing) and put it into the gauntlet housing.

Slide switch is a little wide for the pre-cut slot in the gauntlet, but I’m pretty sure this will work just fine when I enlarge it!

Tonight was one of the FIRST times I’ve ever used my dremel. I bought it, as well as my airbrush setup and other misc Boba tools, when I started this endeavor with an order to Fettpride 3 years ago.

You can imagine the bullets I was sweating while taking the Dremel to my gauntlet, and to the helmet...

Weathered my cape a bit - rattlecan black, and the browns I used to paint the ammo belt. Happy with how it came out; I tried to get some dirty/ dusting near the bottom and collecting on the seams.

tennantlim what is the plastic you’re using to create the small plate on the cape? Or anyone for that matter - what plastic are you using for reinforcing, or anchoring gauntlet darts, or anything that requires a piece of “plastic”...?

I use styrene sheets of varying thickness depending on the need.
