Hey,
These are my 8 leather ammo pouches and found the best way
to make them. Materials i used: tin, tape,Goop,
1/4" plastic foam,scisors,scrap leather pieces,velcro,x-acto
knife
1st Cut out templates out of tin, i have tin snips but this
tin was very thin i could use scisors. These tin templates
are placed on the 1/4" foam and you cut around template with
x-acto knife. Here are the template sizes
1. 3 1/4" x 1 1/2" back
2. 2 5/8" x 1 1/2" front
3. 3 1/4" x 1 5/16" sides (has one top corner cut off)
4. 1 1/2" x 13/16" bottom
The next step is to assemble the foam into little boxes with tape so that they stay together while glueing them with goop.
Once the foam boxes are dry it is time to make the tin templates for cutting the leather pieces. Template above #3
is used for the leather and here are the next template dimensions.
5. 4" x 2 "
6. 7 1/8" x 2" (has two corners cut off)
The next step is to place tin templates #3,#5,#6 on top of your thin leather and cut with sharp x-acto knife. Once leather shapes are cut glue(goop) them onto foam boxes.
I have pics of templates and finished pouches. If someone can post them for me i will email them the pics.
one last thing i have not put on any stitching on the pouches yet!
Hope this helps!! Sorry for the bad pics
