01Hawk WIP : Supertrooper

Thank you everyone for the positive feedback and Raf for the constructive feedback as always .! the use of pictures makes it much easier to obtain that 100% accuracy level.

I have a 3D printed flashlight and a 6050 which is too big. I want to get a 6051 lamp before cutting a hole. Currently I mounted a light bulb off an energizer lamp. I blacked out the area that is to be cut out. The range finder is a bit of a mess. The upper ear is cocked, I used light gun metal gray for them because I liked the color. I will be going back to a natural metal color after this weekend. I didn't put much time into the rangefinder since I knew I would be ripping it apart for a JC 27 light kit. Tomorrow ( today actually) will hopefully it will addressed

Suit is not complete yet but I wore from 2pm till 1am today... Not bad for fitting everything up in the hotel room

I didn't have time to make a pouch for the vest. Also didn't get any fans in. I just ran the wire thru a hole in the vest and shirt and put it in the left side pouch.

Wow  looks great like a UN version of Star Wars  I would be afraid of everything that did not look remotely clean to stand next to, how do you do it!!

Really great work Hawk

Thanks for all the compliments! Now it is time to finish it upcorrectly. After wearing it for 11 hours straight I know what I want to fix and have to finish all the details correctly. My pack is painted and ready to get assemble now as well.

As far as keeping it clean , I was pretty much scared of someone dumping something on it all day lol. It was Katsucon ( an anime show) and tons of younger fans who really just kinda ( rudely) shoved their way through crowds and stuff. I did have to skip the wings and ribs for dinner as well as stuffing my entire front with napkins hahah.

Nothing fell off and the magnets worked well . I put Velcro on the front of the knees but they still walked around a bit to the side due to the slack in the pants. My feet kill - even with the $50 dr scholls insoles ( I was expecting that tho), I really want a one piece flightsuit , I couldn't take my helmet off myself - for some reason with the gauntlets I couldn't bend my arms correctly to get them over my head. The gauntlets stayed in place pretty well - the bunched up shirt kept them in place. I was scared of slicing someone open with the darts and I will need to start working out to carry Dakotas awesome rocket around on my arm lol. The chest display got a lot of compliments and I want to see if I can get it programmed to say a couple different things. I also wish this suit had a girth belt to cover my gut better. Add that to the gym list too

You look awesome man. Seriously, if I was at a con or somewhere in public, and saw you in that outfit, it would totally make my night. And day...really Id probably be talking about it for weeks. Awesome work, man!

Wow man you look sick! Trust me, I have a job where I have to stand for hours sometimes 12+. No matter what you have in your shoes. Even if you're in a t shirt and shorts, your feet will kill lol

There is a simple solution to your flightsuit. Wally and I took similar but different approaches to fix your bag pant issues.

Wally's solution: Sew the two halves together where they met so no bagginess would be in the upper pant leg area.

My solution: Sew buttons on the shirt (Shirt tucks into the pants) and cut holes into the pants where the two optimally meet to remove any bagginess. I have two buttons on the front and back. Warning....doing this approach may cause your pants to tear due to how tight you are wearing them if you bend or sit...so make sure you only button the suit together when you begin to put on your waist level gear (aka no bending required anymore).

Regarding the chest display, if you have a Fettronics display you can contact Jon, he'll often program it for free for you. He does have a utility you can use to easily flash it if you want to do it yourself. Personally I would recommend using the ESB sequence...but Raf might have a more detailed sequence already from the video.

Regarding the dart thing, I told you before I purposely walk with my right wrist in front of me at all times since someone would need to basically walk into me from the front to get stabbed.

The problem with the Supertrooper/Pre-Pro #1 & Pre-Pro #3 suits is that the chest display is made of 4 segmented LED displays versus the well known 5 segmented LED displays:

I have the RafalFett sequence on there now... Everyone loved the Fettronic lights especially at night. And I want it programmed to say something for more adult oriented events as a joke :devil

And Crumdum they are some great tips on the pants. The crotch was bugging me the entire time since it was hanging low and the BobaMaker COD piece seems kinda small ( I may be wrong though) the pouches on the MOW pants also seem to sit a bit low- I have to put the pics side by side yet as well. I want a new scout flight suit and the tailor that fixed my flightsuit when I first bought had said he could make me a new one - I'm sure he could do a Fett one well so I figured I would run it by him.

I did take your advice on keeping my hand in front of me. It was super crowded in some areas and kids were literally running around at times. I think my dental files caught someone once but they didn't break. Also had to make sure the towel didn't get sucked in the escalator lol.

I kind of wish I could troop around without the jet pack sometimes. I can handle it with long troops, but most of the other Boba's in our garrison can't go more than 3 hours wearing the jetpack. It might be that my setup weights about 4 lbs less than theirs though...
