Paint Matching Helper

I found this website while trying to find a different color for the beige on the rear panels of the ESB helmet. I wanted to share it with you all as its fairly extensive and covers many brands and types of paints.

Model paint database

You basically just drag around on the color palette and try to match to what you see in a photo. This takes some eye balling but I wasn't aware if anyone had used this, but I found it extremely useful and thought I'd pass it along.

Well using photo references, I guess I should have typed that part as well... the worst that could happen is you order a $2 paint tin and it doesn't look right on a test sheet. Just remember to test before hand!

Right now I'm spending a lot of time going back and forth between reference photos, google color charts, etc. Just striving to get as close as I can to what we'd see IRL. You can also add a drop or two of white/black to lighten or darken the mix you arrive at when the paint arrives.

Just the ones that have been shared among members here, such as GINO I believe, holding the ESB Hero and whatnot. Y'know... all the stuff in the gallery.

Humbrol right now. But I'm trying to find something a little closer than the 103 with 28 or 26(can't remember which) misted over it.

If I can stick with enamel I figured I could bounce around to model master or something. But I'm trying to only refer to humbrol.
