Master Replicas RF servo install

New Hunter
I would like to add a servo mechanism to the RF of my MR helmet. It seems that several threads relating to the subject on the forum are stale, with images missing and links deactivated. From what I gather, without images, the MR bucket has a specific construction which differs from other models on the market. Has anyone successfully added a servo mechanism to their MR helmet, and if so, would you post some images and instructions? Greatly appreciated.

From what I gather, the inner lining has to be pealed-back, and then a series of screws have to be removed to disassemble the mechanism. I am apprehensive to start tinkering with an expensive toy until someone can confirm this is the correct method - preferably with some supporting pix as guides.

My liner is long gone, and I fixed the pinch, and installed a hard hat liner, fans etc...i Pretty much gutted it and outfitted it the way that many do with other trooping helmts. ..so I've ruined the collectable value of mine ages ago...(wish I would have left it alone since they are worth big bucks now). Anywho, as borris described, my issue is with the very strange rangefinder set up that these came with. Not sure exactly how to go about it, as the traditional way that many outfit thier buckets with servos seems like it will be problematic with the goofy MR set up...

Pictures?

Jangos kid, would you be able to post photos of your bucket for reference? Or if anyone out there has the expired images from old TDH threads, postings would be appreciated. Thanks again.

So this is what a standard Mr looks like. It's a goofy design for sure, and not like what most of us are used to!! Obviously, that post that the stalk rotates will have to go if a servo is going to be used. That's kinda scary, cause once you cut or grind that off, there is no going back, (at least not easily) We'll also have to cut a relief on the stalk itself to fix a nut onto the servo shaft, otherwise we won't be able to fit on the outer ear. I dunno...it seems like alot of extra screwing around to me, that may or may not work well?? At this point, I'm almost thinking it would be better to get a set of aftermarket ears and stalk from one of our helmet makers to put on here, and Maybe see if that would be easier than trying to mod these. At least that way, if I still have trouble getting the servo mounted etc, I can still go back to the original set up....
