WIP: bcurtis's ESB Fett build (Lord help me) Pic Heavy!

So I COMPLETELY lucked out and scored a mini-light for $1.55 plus $10 shipping from the UK. The seller told me that it took AA batteries, which would make it a 6050 and not the proper 6051. It just showed up today and turns out that it takes AAA batteries, making it the correct 6051 after all!!! So excited! This is the second found part that I've gotten incredibly lucky to find for next to nothing cost wise. My Milbro scope being the other one ($17). I've missed out on this found part a handful of times in the past, so I'm really happy to have found this one.

What!!!! How lucky you are!! I can't believe it...
I'm looking for one for nearly a year now and even was biding up to 45£ + 5£ of postage just for a Handylight 6050 two days ago... Did you score it from eBay?

Yes, I found it on ebay. The seller had listed it as "pocket torch 1970" and no one else ever bid on it. Was the one you were bidding on two days ago a blue one? If so, I saw that on there.

Yes, the blue one was the one i was bidding on, but it went too high for something that isn't even the right part.

Congrats again on your find. With these key words, i imagine you must have gone through many items!

Thanks! Funny thing is that it was the right part. I contacted the seller of the blue one and they stated that it took AAA batteries. It also had "Ever Ready" on the switch. The 6051 takes AAA while the 6050 takes AA. Just like you, the price got a little too high for me. I'm happy that I found the one I did, lol.

Quick UPDATE: I'm happy to report that I got my flightsuit back from the tailor and he seems to have gotten it just right. I have one of Arkady's fabulous flightsuits, but I'm on the shorter and thinner side (5'10" and 150 lbs) so there was a lot of room in the leg area in my case (stick legs). I had my tailor tighten the thigh area up for me as well as tighten the arms up so it would look more like ESB Fett. I didn't have him mess with the waist area yet, as I am in the middle of some body changes due to my switching my diet over to a whole foods, fruit, vegetable, and lean meat only food intake (dropped 13 lbs of viscous fat in the last two months!). I'll drop it off to him when my weight finds its new normal. I dropped the FS off with Ponte a couple of hours ago for weathering, but I snapped a couple of photos of it before I did. The knees in the photos belong to Ponte. He was nice enough to lend me his from his SE Fett so that I could have them on during the meetings with the tailor. I will be taking the vest into the tailor next to have the slits cut and sewn for the JP portions. Can't wait. The whole thing will be ready by Halloween. Should be pretty epic...for me at least. Lol! Images are clickable for larger sizes, btw.

Having a tailored suit makes a world of difference, including Boba Fett. I did the same and took mine to the tailor to make some adjustments. Personally, I dislike having baggy clothes, it just looks sloppy. Paying the extra $60 or so to modify it to your body is totally worth it. That suit fits you well and looks quality. Nice job to you and your tailor.

Thanks! I agree 100%. I'll have at least one more trip for final alterations once I have all of the armor installed.

Hey everyone. Long time since I've updated this. Good news is I'll be picking up the final painted up project from Ponte in a little less than two weeks, just in time for Awesome Con here in DC. I'm freaking stoked. I will be updating the thread with a slew of photos once I have everything on. In the meantime, all I've got to share right now are a few photos of the weathered flight suit.

Stay tuned.

Sounds epic. The jumpsuit looks nicely weathered too, although we will have a better gauge of that once we see it on somebody.

Here's some photos of a partial suit up (I couldn't resist). This is by no means finished, but I had to get some kind of photos before I left Rick's yesterday. I didn't have the time to suit up with everything. I will have the final photos on Friday when I head over to his place to prep for Awesome Con. My Stormrider rubber EE-3 isn't painted just yet so I grabbed a ROTJ ee-3 for the shots. Pics are kind of dark, but oh well. We were looking to see what the overall look of me in the costume would be. See you all Friday night!

So I got the Fett close enough to troop in and I headed out to Awesome Con this past Saturday along with Ponte and his wife. I trooped in the costume for 3-1/2 hours and absolutely loved it. My shoulders, upper back, and hips are still sore from it all but that's minor compared to the experience. Turns out I was the only ESB Fett there on Saturday. I learned a bit of what to do and what not to. I also figured out some minor adjustments to make to the costume to reduce rubbing and blisters. I'm fortunate that I'm not much of a sweat-er so going sans fans wasn't a problem. I borrowed Ponte's retired ESB FPH helmet for the troop since mine wasn't quite ready yet (I'll be picking that up later in the month. There are some minor details that still need to be finished pant-wise so I sent some parts back with Ponte when we were done (JP for stencil work and dental file install, gauntlets for dental file install and flamethrower tweak and weathering, and left shoulder bell for stencilling: I borrowed Rick's SE bell for the con). Overall it was awesome. I even managed to get in with my bronze Webley (shh...) which while heavy as a truck really pulled it all together. I met a lot of great people with some great costumes and got a lot of compliments from con attendees, costumers, 501st and Mando Mercs. I can't wait for the next opportunity to get out there. Once I get my helmet and everything together I am going to take submission pics for the 501st Old Line Garrison. I want to get out and do some good in the costume.

Anyhow, here are some pics that Ponte took of me at the con. I want to give a huge shout-out to him for being my handler on my first troop. I felt at ease the whole time. Once I get it all together and take my final pics, I'll do a proper thank you to all who have made this possible. Hope you enjoy the pics! Feedback is always welcome!
