General ROTJ SE

I'm not gonna lie I just saw your post and read it from when you started last year and it honestly started getting me nervous for my build haha. I'm doing the exact same thing ROTJ SE Fett and the majority is being done by Bobamaker, set to be complete this December. I've been waiting since July last year. The thing that got me most worked up was hearing your issues with the jet pack. I can only imagine how your senses ramp up when your next to hundreds of people in public and sit back thinking "I'm literally wearing 6 grand right now" it's just nuts the paranoia must go through the roof haha

Just in time for Christmas! You are going to be so happy when you open up the cartons. I look forward to a fellow SE!

The jetpack issue was resolved with several solutions; move the collar stud placements on the back armor to close up the gap, change the shoulder straps to a sturdier canvass material and sewing them down instead of using triglides to eliminate loosening due to movements, waxing the harness bar and the surface around the clips on the jetpack to allow smooth transition, etc. This part of the costume, as most members here will testify, is the most tedious part of the whole set up. Marking out the positions requires precision, patience, and some inevitable trial and error.

All the best with your build!

Thanks man, once again congratulations it's a hell of a feat. I'm sure I'll get in touch with you since we have the same build

Got my vest back and spent all of last night attaching the armor plates and sewed on the wookiee braid. This was made more complicated by the fact that I had to eyeball the placement on my own, attach the armor and braid in their general positions, then make micro adjustments until I got them to where I think looks right. I get that this should really be judged with the vest worn on me, but I was too tired to figure out how to take selfies by the time I was done.

Vest by Arkady, braids by Woodman, chest display by TK409 and armor plates by Bobamaker

The tailor did a fantastic job with the slits for jetpack harness bar and straps.

Flat top pins were glued and reinforced with epoxy putty on the armor plates.

I got the locking pin backs from here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/50-Locking-...-USA-seller-/321712835435?hash=item4ae7944b6b They lock on to the pins firmly and only release when you pull the back, which technically cannot be achieved accidentally since they are between your vest and flight suit. This method allows for removal and reinstallation if necessary, so I would recommend you mark out the pin positions on the vest.

Pocket for a 9V battery to power up the chest lights.

Attached D-rings to the jetpack harness shoulder straps. I decided to make the straps adjustable (secretly to avoid sewing >.<) by using tri-glides.

Getting close!

Great work. Just reading through your post and was curious as to the length of the flat top pins you used to secure your armor to your vest. I like this attachment method. Has it been working well for you? Thanks!

Thanks man. The pins are 7mm long and they have worked very well so far. I have trooped over 6 weekends with multiple suit-ups each day and I have only had 2 backs fall off. Good thing I marked the locations with a fine tip marker on the vest so I was able to easily re-attach the pins and the backs. I also bring along some spares in case I lose them. Hope this helps.

Got some studio shots done over the weekend with an old friend who is a master commercial photographer. He wanted to apply classic portraiture methods on Boba Fett with cinematic grading, which I thought was quite refreshing. Besides, I thought I should have some proper photos for my personal archives. Hence I flew over to Singapore with my gear, borrowed a blaster from the local Garrison and spent an afternoon in costume being posed like an action figure. Personally, I love the results, but it's best I let the images speak for themselves. There are a lot more images but these are the ones that he is ready to share for now.

These were shot with the Phase One IQ 180 (80 megapixel medium format camera) and lit with Broncolor Siros and Scoro strobes. Zero Photoshop.

I cannot agree with you more! The ESB bucket with ROTJ armor and jetpack colors is the end all! My personal Gauntlets have a splash of orange thrown in for a slight nod to the pre pro2, just with the ROTJ flame box

Greetings fellow bounty hunters. Over the past 2 years I have been photographing my buddies from the 501st Legion Indonesian Outpost at their events (view some of them here: Tennant Lim Photography) and I was inevitably "convinced" to join them. Boba Fett has always been my favorite character so he was the obvious choice for my build. At some point soon after this decision, I thought to myself "What the hell have I gotten myself into now?!". :facepalm

Deciding on the version was easy; I love the ESB bucket paint job and the colors on the ROTJ costume, so I will be building the ROTJ SE film version. Here is the breakdown of items and vendors I ordered from;

Helmet, armor, gauntlets, jetpack, shin tools - Bobamaker
Flightsuit, boots, spats and ammo belt - Bobamaker
Vest, neck seal, and hip pouches - Arkady
Gloves - Major
Wookie braids (horse hair), cape, girth belt - woodman
EE-3 blaster (metal scope mount and stock bracket) - Sidewinder
Webley & Scott 4x20 scope - intwenothor
Jetpack harness - Bigdane
Replica US Divers buckle, JP hooks, clips and rings -full metal fett
Rangefinder light kit - Jc27
Fans - crumdum

I am failing miserably at posting progress on this build since I can't seem to stop and take photos once I get into the groove. So I thought I share some photos of the gorgeous helmet by Daz (Bobamaker).

An animefan rangefinder has been modified to fit the stalk and is fitted with a self-contained light kit by Jc27.

So pretty! Every time I look at another pic dump I see so much more detail! Damn man! good Effing work!

Guys, I just returned from a troop at Sinulog 2018 in Cebu, the most grueling troop I have experienced and I wanted to share it with you here.
We were suited up for more than 12 hours with virtually no sleep starting from 3am, stood in formation under a heavy downpour for about 10 minutes, and completed a 8km march through the streets of Cebu City in 6 hours with zero toilet breaks (turns out we didn't need it) and only a short lunch break. The photos alone cannot completely express the remarkable experience.

Our contingent comprised of members from SEA regions; Cebu Scarif Squad, Philippines Garrison, Singapore Garrison, Garuda Garrison Indonesia, and Malaysia Garrison.

It was an honor and privilege to be positioned at the tip of the spear to lead the contingent.

The fans were very polite. They would ask for permission to take photos and thank us after that. Every single one of them.

This Iron Trooper patch can only be earned upon successful completion of the march.

Here's the video of us holding our formation when it rained.

I am happy to report that my armor survived the troop and the rain completely intact. All electronics continued to work through to the end. The pipes on my boots are slightly scuffed up and broke in a few spots from being frequently stepped on by the crowds, but I would just chalk it up to weathering.

If you like, you can read a detailed account of our experience perfectly captured by my buddy Billy here: Link to Facebook post
