BH-51512's Prototype Scratch Build

Neo Fett

Active Hunter
Hello all, now that my ROTJ Boba Fett is approved and complete (well, complete for now). I decided to try and scratch build a prototype fett. I'll have to buy a few parts but for the most part it will be all me.

Here is what I have so far:
Jetpack (I already had one mostly built from before I decided to buy a DVH for Boba).

Armor (PVC Pipe):

1/4th a gauntlet and misc. parts (3d printed):
Models used:
Rafal Works for shin tool and knee darts
Boydell for gauntlets.

100% subscribed. Loved watching your build progress on the last Fett and it's cool cause after my Rotj Fett, I recently began my prototype Fett. Great to work along side your work again!

Thanks! Being a scratch build I plan to post a lot more than I did with my ROTJ.
Good luck on your build

My last build was scratch built. What parts are definitely gonna be purchased?

Soft parts for sure. I have zero sewing skills. Depending on what I can do I may also buy the backplate, helmet, belt (not the pouches though), and the sling for the blaster on the side.

By Protoype do you mean the white one or the other colored protottypes?

The white one

Arkady is your best bet for great soft parts, and you can make all of your armor out of sintra to keep costs down. I made my own helmet not too long ago with rafalfetts templates and it turned out great. Goodluck on your build and make sure to have fun!

Arkady is the best! I bought my ROTJ soft parts from her. Top quality stuff. As for the helmet, I probably could make one (or print one) but I'll probably end up buying one. And yes, fun is a must! Love working on Mandalorians!

I use a dentless helmet from Animefan for mine. Super clean cast, relatively low dollar- the only draw back is it is resin and can warp if left sitting with the visor out. Otherwise I haven't had any issues.

Thanks to the 3d models of ajaidan and boydell I have been able to print, paint, and hinge my first gauntlet. I still have the hose connector and greeble to print but it's looking nice so far.

Yup! That way I can smooth it out with acetone vapor if need be.

I've used plain liquid acetone as well. Makes things pretty smooth and welds cracks. Just pour some into a dish and brush on. How solid are your prints? I've used spray foam to fill voids when needed.

They are pretty strong if that's what you're asking. 3 shells and 25% fill with hexagons. I set my nozzle at .2mm height so everything is super close together and it comes out almost perfect. It takes a long time, but it's worth it.

Thanks for the idea about just rubbing acetone on it. I've only thought about using the vapor method.

I will probably re-do the gauntlets. I'm unhappy with how they turned out. Anyway, here is my progress:
