Tracing paper or transfer paper

I been following a few guides and some mention tracing paper others transfer paper?

a few google searches show me that transfer paper is actually better than tracing paper as it does not smudge or leave carbon on the helmet, so I decided to go down this route unless anyone here can tell me why tracing is better

My question that google does not answer is what is the difference between the quality of transfer paper?

So far there are 4 types :

Trace down £1 a sheet- 5 A4 sheets are £5

Saral Transfer Paper £18.00 a roll

and Sally’s Transfer paper £25.00 a roll

Generic unbranded transfer paper 50p A4 or packs of 10 A4 for £5

Anyone have any experience with these products does the cost justify the quality ?

I use this:

Amazon.com - White Transfer Paper-9"X13" 4/Pkg - Furnitureanddecor

I get it in white and black so no matter what color I am putting on I can see it. I am very happy with it.


And it is fairly cheap......one sheet will do a whole helmet. Just I have done three helmets and used just one and a half packages.

Thats the grey one i just bought the packs will give it a try on the armour pieces first
