Those killstripes are always my favorite part.

Took a brief detour to airbrush the color coat on the RF ear parts. I love unmasking these to see the glint of that bare metal!

Red alert! This stage changes the appearance of the helmet more than any other stage. Getting the red on just does something to tie everything together.

I got the keyslot area done. This particular cast has the MQ-1 board molded in.

Here's the center part of the red band. That nice clean red isn't so clean anymore!

The left side of the band is finished. I still need to add the white thumbprints.

I got the right side of the band done, too.

Here's the smallish area at the corner of the visor. I did the white thumbprints as well.

I'm done with the left side of the brow.

The right side of the brow is finished. On to the mandibles!

The left mandible is finished. On to the crazy right side!

Whew! Got the upper part of the right mandible done. The collage shows how I build the detail topically.

I finished the remainder of the right mandible. That takes care of all the basic painting on the helmet! I'll work on the ears and weathering next.

I got the black arch airbrushed on the ear cap. Tamiya tape for curves really comes in handy for these types of applications.

Crazy how that's not a stencil, I'm always amazed.

The lower right ear is done.

I got the arch airbrushed on the left ear.

Got the RF assembly done.

The upper RF ear is finished. Only the left ear to detail now!

I got the left ear done. It's time for the final weathering stages!
