Finished the right mandible. Another area that's packed with detail.



Since I work topically, here's a comp of the color "passes" I make while working on this section. This is fairly typical of how I build the detail while working on the damage areas.

Haven't had much helmet time since Monday, but I got the base coats down on the ears.



I'll work on the damage this week.

Here's some progress on the upper RF ear. I mask the arch with thin strips of tape and then use larger pieces to cover the rest of the ear.



I'll let this dry for about a day before masking off the white marking.

The lower RF ear is finished. The small black markings are my custom dry transfers.

Here's the left ear in two stages: gray, then red.

Starting the final weathering stages. Grease stains, overspray, washes, pigment powders... they'll all come into play to get the helmet nice and grungy.

Weathering is almost complete and the ears have been fitted. The helmet always looks a little weird with no ears so it's great to get them installed.

Oh not for a long while now. I'm always messing around with red mixtures to find something i like.

Number 46 complete! I had a lot of fun working on this one. It's the second Fugly kit I've painted and it's really an excellent helmet.
