Thought I posted the right cheek when I finished it. Hmm... maybe I need to get more memory installed.
Well, here are both cheeks then.



The next stage will be to mask everything off and airbrush the red.

Man... busy week. But I finally had time to airbrush the red! I'll be starting the damage this weekend.

Got the keyslot area done. I'll work on the red band next.

Got the center section of the band done. Lots of detail squeezed into this narrow area!

I got the left portion of the band finished up. Still need to add the white thumbprints.

More progress.
I finished the right section of the band. That means everything behind the ears is done.



I also worked on the fade under the killstripes. At certain angles it's really subtle. But when the light hits it, it brightens up.

Been working on the left side of the brow above the visor opening. Here are a couple of shots.

The right side of the brow area is done. On to the mandibles!

Took a little detour before starting the mandibles. I added the white thumbprints on the left side.

Rolling along. I got the left mandible finished up today. Next is the crazy right mandible.

Ok, how about right now?

I like to break the right mandible into roughly upper and lower halves. I finished detailing the upper half this afternoon.
The collage shows how I do this section working topically.

Ok, the mandible is finished, so that concludes the basic painting on the helmet!
I'll be pausing at this point to take care of a few things before SWCC. After I get back I'll work on the ears, and the weathering stages.

I found a little time today to do a bit more on the helmet so I started adding the pale contrasting gray. Here's a shot of the back panels.
