*SPOILERS* The Book of Boba Fett Discussion

@B0BA FETT
Really? From the guy obsessed with a 60 year old man's BMI? Also, inclusion probably feels forced when you're so used to not having it for so long.

Sorry everyone but I'm pretty shocked at how free a few are with disgusting views, and clearly plenty others agree and approve. Again, you're all entitled to your opinions but this thread is simply amazing to me.
Do you realise how hypocritical you are?

Read your posts back, there’s a good girl.

I am not going to get into this type of debate. Let’s get back to the book of Boba fett.

Compelling. That's exactly what I expected from you though; condescension, misogyny, and lack of depth or self realization. "Hypocrisy" isn't just a word for something you don't like.

Just the one four letter word but it will be censored out.
Here's the thing though, I am pointing out behavior and your reflex is to deflect, "well you're doing it too", without backing that up at all. You have no argument, and maybe that's because you know the things you're saying are appalling, I dunno. More likely you aren't arguing because you have no argument. That's fine, I didn't expect much of a retort.

But hey, if I'm showing my true colors, fantastic. I'm happy to broadcast who I really am, as you apparently are. I was just shocked to come to a Boba Fett forum and see people lamenting more realistic inclusion in movies and going on at length about an actor's body shape. If my true colors are someone who believes in seeing more prominent roles for women, LGBTQ, other ethnicities and people with handicaps, as well as not really caring about a 60 year old man's body shape, uh...yeah, paint me with that brush. But if all you guys, including any moderators, are cool with this being what TDH is about, I'm obviously in the wrong here and should shuffle off already.
I am curious about what options discussed here are considered by you “disgusting”.

There are a few posts in the thread moaning about inclusion, female lead characters, and body shaming. I'm sure I come across as uptight as most on here seem pretty accepting of the comments. Again, this is likely not a great forum for me to devote my time to.

Have a great new year all. Hopefully we can all improve.

Wow you wrote all that for me.

Oh please, please don’t go, we need a professor in English so we can all be down trodden and belittled, when we make a grammar mistake or spell something wrong.

If not I reckon mumsnet might be more in keeping.

So what if he’s 60? There’s plenty of actors over 60 that manage to keep themselves trim and fit. Sounds a tad ageist to me for someone blowing the inclusivity horn.

Harrison Ford is still in decent shape at 79.

Tem isn’t playing an aged old Captain Rex here, he’s meant to be the BEST Bounty Hunter in the Star Wars universe. I couldn’t care less about Tem’s body shape, and he seems like a decent bloke. That said, he’s representing a character now that was not that shape. I’m sure he could’ve made himself more toned if he wanted, but he’s getting paid regardless. It just lacks effort.

I’m all for inclusion, but here lately the feminist agenda has been pushed to the forefront instead of good story telling. I’m in favor of strong female characters, as long as the story is good and they are not there to simply de-masculate everyone else. As far as “body shaming” goes, I do think that was the point. I think the flashback scenes should have had a younger actor with a physique like that from ROTJ for continuity sake. For the older Boba, TM is fine because we all know what time can do to the body. I think the problem with this first episode is the lack of faithfulness to an already beloved character and some lazy writing.

my thoughts on the episode 1:

Too earlier to tell yet but a lot of the criticisms already addressed were valid ones, pacing, characterization, etc. My pet peeve was how incapable Boba was depicted in multiple instances in the episode in comparison to his appearance in the Mandalorian. Plus they could have really built up the Sarlacc escape much more, we've been head building that lore for decades. Hopefully when they pick up pace in the next few episodes will start seeing the bounty hunter we know him to be. The episode certainly lacked a hook to get the regular audience invested.

I agree, the only worry for me is, normally the first episode is an attention seeker, it gets people talking about it in an excited "blimey did you see that Book of Boba Last night - it was brill"

Everything I have read is disappointment?
