*SPOILERS* The Book of Boba Fett Discussion

I finally got around to watching it. I actually watched it a second time just to make sure it was as bad as the first time. About the only thing I enjoyed was the boots in the beginning. At least they looked close to the OT.
At one point I seen Fennec wearing sneakers while jumping on those buildings.
I like the Robot Chicken episode better.

Disney has made every effort to destroy the character of every OT character and then after completing that task just kill said character....and make the Girl(s) the HERO!!
Boba had to have Fennec in his moment of confusion explain to him what giving instead of receiving tribute meant....
I truly had high hopes for this series, it looks to be more of the same!
For me OT Episodes lV, V & Vl are it.

ConvergenceProp Dude..... those are some really good points!

It definitely appears as though they are having Tem play Boba as Jango 2.0 instead of actually taking inspiration for how Boba appeared in the original trilogy. Boba should be acting completely different - have different mannerisms- have different quirks. There would be nothing wrong with having had Tem actually study up on how Clint Eastwood acted in Man with No Name/Fist Full of Dollars etc and how Boba acted in the OT. However, it seems they just said "hey man, just do what you did in the prequels and that should be good enough"

Even though he is a 'clone' he should still be a completely different person - after all, all the clone troopers don't act like carbon copies of Jango - they are all unique but somehow Boba is exactly the same only with some weird fettish (pun intended) for being a crime lord which is the exact polar opposite of Jango and directly opposite to how Boba was raised - in literally every other canon source Disney has released. It literally makes no sense (specifically if you read both the Jango and Boba 1 shot comics)

You know, for a lot of fans, that‘s really all they need. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Regardless of where people stand on the quality of the material, for me a large part of my issues stem from the over-saturation of it. We used to get a film every 3 years (then nothing), and then it was every year when the sequels came out. The time between releases built anticipation and excitement. Now it’s all too much too soon. I can’t imagine being a Marvel fan right now. There is just way too much content to keep track of. Like….there was a show on Disney+ called “What If?”….not really sure what it was about but it was just all hypothetical scenarios/stories.

Buckle in. I expect Disney to pump out content like this that’s Star Wars related.

Where we used to be limited in our offerings, think of Star Wars like a buffet now. You don’t have to take everything, but just take what you enjoy.

I agree DeathProof! It's just silly now.
For example...Boba goes in pitt nearly as tall as Vader and slim...comes out of pitt shortly later not so tall and round in the middle...just silly!

Disney is all about being PC. Its a brave new world, sometimes my attention is drawn to them covering all bases as its so in your face all the time - Boy, Girl, Autistic, Chinese, black, white, disabled, LGBTG, Ginger, old, fat, bald etc etc (don't mean to miss anyone out here)

Someone makes a comment "oh there is not many woman nominated for Oscars" and all hell breaks loose.

Sometimes its just to much, just take a look at nearly every advert on TV ?
I’m not a fan of Disney or how it’s handled the Star Wars franchise. I think some valid criticisms have been raised by yourself and others in this thread. But are you seriously complaining about increased visibility of minorities in film and television?

Not at all, it just feels forced.

I know what you mean. I consider myself liberal and obviously I am all for inclusion but it’s so obvious when social commentary has been shoehorned in where it’s really not needed. I’m aware of the many, many issues plaguing modern life, can I just watch a sci-fi fantasy show and not think about it for half an hour? This is Star Wars, it’s literally set a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. You’d think that’s enough to not have to waste 2 thirds of an episode explaining to us that “hey! People who live in desert tribes are humans too!”

For me, it was ONCE again that he uses the flamethrower off of his Right Gauntlet again?

I mentioned this before in another thread, And maybe it is just me, but doesn't anyone else find it a bit out of sorts? Especially since you got folks like MCR selling.....
MCR Flamethrower Nozzles Kit - ROTJ.jpg

And he's the official Metal Parts guy for Disney now - which is super cool by the way!

Disney: Hi Dakota, We'd like to order another batch of your.....well, you call them the "Gauntlet Flamethrower Nozzles Kit". But just an FYI they're NOT, they are laser blasters.

I mean MCR calls them that. I know it was all pretty much based off of this artwork, and is where we get that idea about them...

I guess we're just destined to see them as lasers then....

Oh I also mentioned that at the post credit scene of S2 E8 of the Mandalorian we see a Red LED illuminated from his Jetpack Beacon...

And it looks like it was present again too in S1 E1 of The Book of Boba Fett....

I honestly don't mind his new Red LED on the Beacon......kinda cool!

Also, I'm NOT in love with his newer slimmer Collar Studs either......they're not as thick and honestly they look like they are now formed as part of the collar armor..

Anywho, those are my gripes with it.

Having now seen it, it was not great but not as bad as I have seen some people say. My thoughts..

Fight scenes look lethargic
Monster was straight out of Sinbad. Why do they always have to stand up and roar!
Boba is now short and fat, even his arse wobbles just as he collapses coming out the Sarlacc
The costume colour change is simply to make more toys and money.
The music is awful, really cheap sounds.
Fennec is quite cool.
Love the bar and Garsa Fwip is fit.
Boba wanted the Ninjas alive or at least one (its a gang that he saw with the young Raider)
He must be like an electric car that needs charging every few hours, hence the Tank.

Not completely written it off, hopefully Tam is on a strict diet, so he starts to looking more the part as episodes move along.

Just my short take... Im soo fed up with Disney anyways for doing away with the old Expanded Universe and scrapping all of that that I couldnt really care less how their new canon turns out. Im just looking forward to seeing new costumes and places and maybe some cool scenes.

Really... They killed Star Wars with abandoning what was cherished by 2 generations of fans and replace it with stupefied versions. But that started 2015. So at this point I just dont care anymore.

Part of the badassery of Boba’s character was his mystery - at least for 5 year-old me, it was. He was kind of a bad guy, but also not part of the empire…even Darth Vader seemed to allow a little lip from him in Empire, which made him even more badass.

But again, it was the helmet and the mystery. I’d argue that the reason Mandalorian was so good was because of the lone gunslinger/man without a name vibe. It’s like they understood that the mystery was the secret sauce. They kept the helmet on and his dialogue to a minimum.

Now you take the original character that Mandalorian was based off, take off his helmet immediately, and then start giving him all kinds of lousy dialogue that goes against what we grew up knowing/believing about the character.

The mystique is gone.

Not my Boba - just sayin.

Hope it gets better.

In a way, the de-canonizing of the EU wasn't a big deal to me, I never read it, except for a few games and comics (twin engines of destruction, e.t.c). I went into the Disney verse very much open minded about it. I've really enjoyed some of it while really disliking other parts.

What's stuck out to me is the writing and directing. There's been episodes of the animated shows that I've nearly gotten emotional on, and don't get me started on the the finale of mando s2, talk about hitting you in the feels lol. But some of the episodic content and movies just come across as poorly written and/or directed. I like Tem and all the actors in the BoBF just fine, but the episode was sloppy, weak writing, noticeable editing errors e.t.c.

I am cautiously optimistic about the show, but Disney can be very hit or miss with its treatment of SW, and if you're gonna nullify the EU and tell me this is the definitive story of a character, then like at the minimum address the sloppy cuts/edits lol. After two great seasons of mando, I think it's understandable that people expect a little more from this...

@B0BA FETT
Really? From the guy obsessed with a 60 year old man's BMI? Also, inclusion probably feels forced when you're so used to not having it for so long.

Sorry everyone but I'm pretty shocked at how free a few are with disgusting views, and clearly plenty others agree and approve. Again, you're all entitled to your opinions but this thread is simply amazing to me.
