*SPOILERS* The Book of Boba Fett Discussion

I get some of the complaints. But overall i think this has been a good show thus far. It makes sense why this Boba did what he did, and why. People do sometimes evolve, and change their ways. In OT Boba did literally nothing more than standing around looking menacing (something he still does with the helmet on) and then got kicked down by a blind guy. Had this happened today, you all would have complained about how they totally messed up boba's character by letting him being thrown down the Sarlac. Furthermore, he is holding back, in a sense, and also he was not at full health or had his armor in the flashbacks, and even during present time he still needed to use the Bacta tank because he wasn't healthy enough. A one dimensional character isn't what Boba is meant to be. It's a reason for his entire arc in the clone wars series, and what has happened thus far in the show.

Do agree he removes the helmet a little too much, but i liked the backstory of his new clothes, and how the Tuskens influenced him. This entire show from his escape in the Sarlacc is over several years as well.

ppl have complained about this for 39 years.

“and even during present time he still needed to use the Bacta tank because he wasn't healthy enough”

Without healing or bacta, he flew halfway across the galaxy after spending 5 years in the desert. slaughtered a platoon of stormtroopers, blew up their landing craft, got in a bar fight with a woman for giving him lip, then tried to use his flame thrower on her. :)

They sure made him seem totally fine in mando s2 lol

This is a big issue in continuity.

Agreed that the continuity thing is weird. Boba was definitely in good form in Mandalorian. Though, thinking about it more... after the initial fight with the stormtroopers he doesn't do much physically. When he fights with Koska in the bar, he doesn't exactly come out on top. I'm guessing Bo Katan would have leveled him. So maybe he was just hopped up on adrenaline when he got his armor back?

It’s not just the physical stuff that is off. His overall portrayal in Mando is completely different to how he acts in BoBF. The man has a sniper pointed at an innocent an unarmed Grogu as leverage over Mando, destroys a whole squad of TKs and blows them up when they are trying to escape. No mercy. Just how Boba should be

Maybe this is all a nightmare dream sequence and when reality kicks in, he wakes up in the Sarlacc, tries to make his escape with some much needed help from Dengar. Armor is acid scarred, so it gets dropped outside the Sarlacc. Dengar patches Fett up as much as he can [Face is covered with bandages], helps him over to Slave 1 [Yes, I said it]. Meanwhile the Jawas pick up the dumped armor and moves on. Fett cleans up best he can, lifts off and fries the Sarlacc while SCANNING around for the armor with the Firespray Class Ship SENSORS....

Omg, I completely forgot he had fennic targeting baby grogu with a sniper rifle, as a trump card

Boba was pretty much a cameo in this episode. But yet... it's another good one.
At this point I'm hoping he's not in the finale so that way we know it'll be good

It was really slow, I felt like fast forwarding it !

5 seconds of Boba and a head nod helmet off is not good enough!

Almost started busting up when they lined up boba’s “gang” and said “now that we have black krrstang and din djarin, we have enough enforcers..” as the camera pans across and shows, din, the wookie, 2 pigs, fennic and 4 perfectly clean cut, baby faced teenage hipsters. Lol

Also thought it was kiiiiind of s stretch how they proposed roping in cobb vanth.

“You’re a law man… we need your help taking out spice runners, so that we can install a new crime lord..”

And he’s like “yeah, np”
Like going to the sherrif of a rural town and saying “hey sherrif, can you get your whole town to come to los angeles and help us overthrow the Triad… and help us put a new gang in charge of the city?”

*shrugs*
But… duuuude…. Boba is going to LOOOOOVE seeing that OG gun slinger that showed up at the end.

Still… 1 episode left, and they still haven’t shown why anyone in mos espa would respect boba fett. Crazy.

But this Disney's boba fett is already irredeemable in my eyes. Only the finale is left and he had yet to shoot his ee3, has more time with his helmet off than on, talks too much, makes too many dumb decisions given the fact he was trained since a child, etc. They could make him a badass in the next episode, but he still wouldn't be redeemed for what they've done to him so far.
At this point, I don't want to see more of him. I couldnt put my finger on it until now. But the one scene in the palace in this episode was the worst part for me. Because I realized I hated every single character standing in that room besides Din. I was in awe at myself. A life long boba fett fan. When I was more excited to see vanth. The person I hated for wearing fett's armor, than my favorite star wars character.
I'll never forget who fett was and will still love him as such. But from this point forward when people ask me who my favorite character in star wars is. I have to explicitly say "legends boba fett"

Two things really stuck out to me after this episode.

A show about Boba Fett has featured a not Boba Fett story for 1/3 of its runtime. I get that they are related and connected, I understand world building and setting up other stories, but I can't imagine Rocky spending 1/3 of the movie to show Paulie getting clothes made and then visiting his un-adopted son before he is able to help Rocky. That said, Mando is arguably the better character at this point, so I understand the focus on him, and it seems that they gave him all the good Boba Fett traits before deciding they wanted to bring Boba back, and now they're stuck.

The other thing, as many people have already stated, is that the show appears to be setting up a second season. Not uncommon for shows and movies to hold back the better stuff and use the first outing as sequel bait. I imagine a season 2 will be greenlit, despite the problems of season 1, but I don't think it's a great idea. Cowboy Bebop was a horrendous show that deservedly got cancelled, but after the cancellation they said they had so much great stuff planned. The problem with this model is that you need to show me why I should want to come back and why you deserve a second chance, don't just hope that the sequel/season 2 is made and put out a mediocre story. Granted, Boba Fett and Star Wars are a much hotter commodity to the general public than a live action adaptation of a 90s anime, but my point remains.

Why should I want to come back to this show or this character at this point when the plot is all over the place and the main character has been turned into an empty shell lacking the traits and characteristics of his former self?
