*SPOILERS* The Book of Boba Fett Discussion

Yep been saying it all along.

I would not be surprised (and what they are doing) would suggest there is a legal monetary clause around the original trilogy that is not attractive to Disney.
That doesn't make sense to me though. Disney could have their cake and eat it if they wanted to. Mando was a huge success - they have and will continue to sell tonnes of toys off the back of it.

BoBF doesn't have to be bad to get people to buy new merch. They've given him a costume change and introduced new characters, that's plenty to get the ball rolling on new merch and it's within their abilities to still make it a good series at the same time.

Geriatric Boba employing some Zoomers with Vespas is not a good episode. I don't know how people think Episode 3 is a good watch.

I'm actually really sad this is how this series panned out so far. Boba doesn't even do anything other than get beat up and walk.

Mando is so much better of a series. I don't know how they'll save this in 4 episodes.

With how they've had his character turn from someone who is feared across the entire galaxy, to someone who wants to be seen as "a good and respected man, unwilling to return violence with violence"... I'm very surprised they decided to make his want to be a CRIME LORD, running A CRIME SYNDICATE. Right after an assassination attempt on his life ,he doesn't even approve of his Lieutenant glaring at a bureaucrat, and threatening to pull her pistol on him... when that's the man that's potentially shielding the mayor who is trying to get you killed.

Trying to turn Boba into "a nice guy" is ultimately what's holding this show back.

By this time, if he was going to be a crime lord, the series should have already had him with his foot down on mos espa, the other factions cowering from him... and with only a few episodes left ,we should be having Dengar, Bossk, and other criminals, bounty hunters and dregs, starting to seek audiences and his 'criminal footprint' expanding in the surrounding territories.

Instead, we get 36 minutes from each of the first 2 48 minute episodes, revolving around sand people and boba turning into a kinder, gentler, more mindful person. Nothing at all that we've seen from the first 3 episodes show him as being even remotely competent enough to run a syndicate, let alone even gain the fear of the local baddies in an outter rim city.

He has been manhandled and beaten up at every single action set piece, and in each action scene he's present in... he'd be dead if someone didn't save him.

I’m not going to continue to watch it. Sorry guys. It’s bad ! I have more important things to get caught up on. It’s a big flop for me.

I'll still watch it, but I agree it's a flop.

Mando even without Grogu just has way better action. Maybe Tem is just too old since he does his own stunts? I like Tem, but the cameos Boba had in Mando he was awesome. Piloting the Slave I and destroying a bunch of Stormtroopers. Even when he fights the Mandalorian woman in the bar and they flamethrower each other and stuff. He was way cooler.

I'm confused how this series went so wrong. Even if he ends up riding a rancor and kicking butt later on. I don't think that makes up for how bad overall the storytelling is.

Idk if you've read leaks, but some of the character cameos people are expecting I don't think can really save the series. It really sucks. OG trilogy Boba will always be my Boba, even if he stays dead like a punk in the Sarlacc lol.

I pre-ordered a bunch of the upcoming Hot Toys Boba Fett's from Mando... Now I'm seriously thinking about cancelling them all and eating the non-refundable deposit. This just isn't my Boba... I just wish he actually kicked butt instead of always getting his ass handed to him.

One final thought, but…

What if…

Season 1 is a complete fever dream. It all happens in Boba’s head and the season 1 finale is him waking up in the Sarlacc and we get the real escape? That would actually tally with that quote of Robert Rodriguez hyping it up so much. So far I’ve seen nothing that could possibly deserve anywhere near that kind of “just wait and see” rhetoric. I am (kind of) obviously joking but I am frantically searching my brain for an explanation because this seems like it’s been made bad on purpose. It has that feel like it’s been made to be intentionally bad. So many plot holes and inconsistencies and just nonsense that makes no sense and goes nowhere. I just… I don’t get it.

As I say, I won’t be watching any more of it so this’ll be my head canon

It's just Spy Kids bro. ;)

I'm also stunned it's so bad since when Boba comes back and kicks ass against Stormtroopers it was awesome. Now he just walks around, takes his helmet off and gets his ass beat.

He dislikes 'spice' being part of the train's shipment... so doesn't like narcotics or illicit substances.
Thinks turning the other cheek when he's being disrespected and people are trying to murder him, will gain him street cred as a crime boss?
Wants to be respected instead of feared.
Gets beaten up every single time he gets in a scrap.
Comes across as a 'tank' that can't comprehend the mechanisms and scheming going on around him, despite his entire backstory revolving around him being the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy, delving the depths of the galactic underworld and even working for Hutt crime bosses.

Totally sounds like 'Crime Lord' would be an obvious career path. ;)
lol

Honestly, I could see that being even more enraging for fans. To sit through several episodes of varying quality, for some extremely and consistently low, to reach an ending that makes you regret sitting through it all even harder?

I never knew the directors said you wait, it will blow your mind?

Was he referring to it blowing your mind in a terribly bad way? I hope the following episodes turn the wrong they have done right. But I have been saying that for all 3.

We are watching Boba Fett being destroyed right in front of our eyes.

Just...watched...a flaming turd of an episode. Like, that actually offended me.

Here I've been, looking for the good, being mildly surprised by the heart in episode 2. Then some ridiculous looking teenagers on candy colored vespas with 23 side mirrors going 4 mph while acting like their speeding around, come in and show Boba Fett how to fight... I'm really flabbergasted by how bad this episode was.

More sloppy filmmaking, bad story, bad acting, bad cgi, the total package.

I will keep watching, but I'm really confused by this show. I just don't understand what's happening or who okayed these elements.
