SarlaccSlayer14's ROTJ Build

I think the chest armor looks fine. Nice placement. The RKD armor fits you well. The shoulders I feel are sitting a bit low (not much), however they are in the right place on the vest. Maybe nudge them up a bit and see how you feel. You don’t want them too high so the bells start jutting out.

You read my mind with the shoulders. They feel too low, but when I look at the ref pics they seem to be placed right. I thought that it might just be the absence of the braids and cape making them appear lower. Thanks!

I agree, chest armor looks good !! As you mentioned, the shoulder bells might come up a 1/4" to 1/2" and see how they look.
With a low angle shot of the pic, it's a little hard to tell from our prospective.....

Its the armor its not wide enough in the chest/collar. Look at the distance from the tip of the shoulder seam to the collar. It WAY to narrow compared to the vest... for example look at the width of the collar compared to the vest here.
Boba Fett Costume

Good call. The width of the collar armor is something that has bugged me when comparing to references. I’ve wondered if RKD sent me large armor, but a normal sized collar.

The chest pieces fit me well and feel right, but the collar doesn’t seem wide enough. Wonder if anyone has a spare “large” collar lying around? Thanks!

Thanks all for the feedback. The collar now has me a little worried about whether I got the correct size back piece as well! Lots of work to get done this weekend!

On a whim, I used half of a baseball card protective sleeve for my chest display and stuck my “smoke” film sheet in there (self adhesive). The film is protected from both sides from scratches and dings, and should be easy to mount since the sleeve is flexible and will contour to the underside of the chest. I have no idea how everyone else does this, but it seems to work well.

On to bigger problems... my MoW jetpack arrived that I bought from a fellow member here and the postal service appears to have certainly had their way with it....

I wanted my thrusters to be removeable (planning on bungee cord method) so on the plus side, USPS did some of my work for me!

Unfortunately, the shell is cracked on both sides where the thrusters mount and I dread the unforeseen work I’ll need to dump into this. I need to salvage this thing because I dig the AFFo$ paintjob!

Besides staring at it and crying, if anyone has better ideas please let me know!

You could fiberglass from the inside and then build up bondo on the outside to shape and then re drill the holes for the thrusters. I have the same jetpack and the material on mine is pretty thick there. They must have tossed it around quite a bit to get it to break like that. Were the thrusters permanently attached before? This is why I like mine removable. The only thing you might have to worry about is the temp from the fiberglass getting too hot while curing and damaging the pack. I’m sure others will have better ideas. Good luck.

You might want to put down the fiberglass on the inside first to hold the bondo in place as you put your pieces in and build back all the missing areas. Kinda like a
backer to hold it all in place. I'm thinking that is what SF was referring to...
