This might be a dumb question dumb question but what’s the difference between specialist resin and fiberglass?

So if I am correct:

MachineCraft siman and Gino all had/have G1 helmets. MC and RS props are now offering G2 helmets.

Other available helmets are direct unauthorized recasts and are G3/G4/G5 at best.

BudaFett, so far I had the same understanding of the generation casts now available, but I would also like to hear confirmation or correction on these generations from the experts here. Thank you in advance, everyone!

I assume that IS the casting they made for their run?
Would you only be painting it ESB , or ROTJ ? : )
I am currently working on improving my BS Fett up to ROTJ paint/damage scheme, myself.

You may be confused. This helmet is the ROTJ SE, to be painted up esb it will need to have several bits of damage removed.

the rotj helmet is totally different in shape/physical attributes.

Yes this from Gino himself this is one of the very few 1st gen casts that are out there and with permission to reproduce a 2nd gen cast

The fph2 has no relation to this helmet. It is a fan made helmet

but it does make for a nice esb!

He was the man who made the mould over the ESB Hero around 2012. For eFX. He then made casts (1st gen) from that mould, which is the one sold to RS.

Polyester resin will shrink, it's the nature of the beast. As it catalysises it generates heat which causes shrinkage. RS have specifically sourced and purchased a product that generates 0% shrinkage for this project.

Yes there is fiberglass in the helmets. They just mainly mention the resin to assure you there will be no shrinkage.

You mean BJB Enterprises TC-1630? It isn't a heavily guarded secret. The Gen 1's were made with it, which resulted in me using it, which resulted in those who recast my helmet using it. Ours uses the same product.

This is correct, I should have clarified this in my post sorry. It is a fibreglass product but of a far superior durability.

It will still have a glass mat layer as far as I’m aware
