RIT Dye Remover TROUBLE!!!!!!!

Ok, so I found a light blue jumpsuit and I have been trying to remove the coloring. I tried once before with it in the smallest load with hot water and 1 package of RIT Dye Remover. Then I read the box, and found that I needed 2 packages.

So here I am tonight, with it in the wash for about 20 minutes on smallest load with hottest water and 2 packages. But its not losing color....

Am I doing something wrong? :facepalm

I put mine in the bathtub and let it sit for 45 minutes.I used four packs, my suit was much darker than I wanted. The RIT color remover does not remove enough color, in my opinon. You are better off to get a white jumpsuit and dye it the color you need.

Yeah, I think I'm going to give up on RIT..

I was trying to just get it whiteish blue like ROTJ...but oh well. Thanks for the help though.

What material is the jumpsuit???? If its 100 % cotton, the Rit should work. If its a synthetic bled of some type, It won't do much at all.

Most jump suits are like 50% polyester or other synthetic and the thread is actually that color, and then like 40% cotton and the rest is like the chicken at mcdonalds.

Im not sure that synthetic fiber can be dyed. I tried also with a dark one, but had no luck. Most dyes wont dye synthetic either, youll have to get a synthetic dye on the internet.

I think if you go too chemical with your bleach, youll destroy the threading, but not sure.

I have a jump suit i want dyed, I may try rit and bleach and see what happens.

Some of the work/industrial coveralls like the Dickies are treated I believe. You can use as many packets as you want, and it won't touch the color. Sorry bro, but I have a feeling you're in that boat
