I applaud your efforts, but please dont use my prices as a spring board for boosting the interest of another product. That is bad form IMO.

My prices are reasonable. I was the first guy to develop this for the masses. I put in all the R&D work myself. I hate having to come here and respond to threads to defend myself when someone is pushing their product.

In fact, my servo board is on par with the listed price above (with the LEDs and other functions). The servo (which is smaller so your head will still fit) and RF kit can be purchased online for those wanting to save money on the entire package.

My assembled servo board, the RF board kit, and low-profile servo can be had for LESS than the above stated solution. So to say my prices are "too high" is ridiculous. The fact of the matter is that for those willing to do a little wiring, my solution is CHEAPER than the one being offered here.

I am offering an alternative, not a replacement. My take on your prices was that for me in my personal situation and geographical location, and for what I wanted it was cheaper to look for home grown solutions over here in the UK. I thought I'd share. I'm not trying to do your product down in any way shape or form.

To hopefully clear the air, I would say the following:

TO anyone considering posting interest on this thread or anyone who has already done so, check out the hyperdyne systems RF servo set up. It is a great addition to your outfit and may be just what you are looking for. If you prefer the hyperdyne systems set up, then I would heartily recommend you get it. If anyone wants to come off the list, above, please let me know and I would be happy to amend the list. I will not be in any way offended or upset. I do not stand to make any profit from this project, I was simply trying to help out the members of this board. In trying to do so, I have seemingly offended one of our numnber, and for that I am very sorry indeed. This was not my intention.

Make the comparison for yourselves, do not assume that because this is better for me, it will be better for you, and do not forget that there will be international shipping costs, although I do not anticipate them being too great.

Like I said, make the comparison and make an informed choice. If the Hyperdyne system is better for you as far as price, features, size, or whatever is concerned, then please do not feel obliged to get the product I am talking about in this thread.

I am not so conceited as to say my product is better, at all. It simply offers an alternative.

The Hyperdyne board is at least comparable to the unit I am offering. It has the benefit of a voice activation option if you can get the necessary bits. I understand they are discontinued, but if you can get them, then these cannot be used on the unit I am offering whereas they can on Hyperdyne's, so if you wanted that as a possible future upgrade, then get the Hyperdyne board, not mine.

Hyperdyne, I hope this goes some way to repairing the percieved damage. As I said, I thought I'd look for some closer alternatives and I found a comparable product. I'm not benefiting from this (other than raising my post count, which was not at all a reason for embarking on this project). I have not taken your comments as sour grapes and I trust you can accept mine in the same way when I say that it is right that you should be recognised as a leader in the world of electronics props enhancements. I am in awe at the range of products you offer and I recognise you are a trailblazer in a great number of ares, but I did not think that you being the first to do something meant that none could follow. As I said, I do not think you are suffering from sour grapes and I don't think this would be your attitude.

If you would like me to amend my initial post to remove the reference to your products (which I do infact praise and only refer to the total price including international shipping), I will do so. I posted this rather than just do it to give you the option. I always find it looks suspicious if posts are edited in these circumstances, as if trails are trying to be hidden etc. I want to be completely open about the whole thing. There are no hidden agendas here.

Also, if the general consensus is that I should not offer this product, I will gladly withdraw it, with apologies to those that have shown an interest. If all those on the list currently decide that Hyperdyne is the way forward for them, I am completely fine with that see, there's even a smiley to confirm this in such an emotionally barren medium such as a forum!

Hyperdyne, apologies again, I didn't do this to steal any thunder, and I may have acted in a similar manner to you, were the tables turned. I understand your viewpoint. I may be in a similar position soon, as I make vests, but a well known member will shortly be unveiling an alternative, which will have an effect on my product.

I think I have rambled enough. Hyperdyne, if you want to respond on the thread, feel free if you'd rather have the discussion by PM, that's fine too . let's not lose any sleep here.

Hyperdyne, relax. Han Hunter said you had a great product. He said it was too expensive for *him*. That's a personal thing on his part. Expensive is relative, and personally, I don't think your prices are bad. To be honest, I didn't know your site existed until RA told me about you a couple of weeks ago.
The purpose of this site is to help people make a great costume even greater, not to step on toes. There are several people on here who make helmets, prices ranging from $100 up to $300. That's not to say one is better than the other, but there are choices.
You should have contacted HH first, one on one. Hash out your differences with him. Then if you had no resolve, post your greivences on the forum. I don't belive he intended any disrespect when mentioning your name in the post. If anything, it might make someone check out your product.

I hope that is not the case. Having more than one person offer any specialized items is what keeps this hobby developing and improving.

I've dealt with Han Hunter for a long time, and he's the last person on the board to try and lure people away from other products....TRUST ME.

And also, *I* too thought the prices Hyperdyne offers for the setups were ridiculously priced...at least until recently, when I realized how much work goes into making circuits! So your prices may seem to be a fair deal to some with a fatter wallet, but to others...well...they'll most likely look in other places for similar products...like me! And this is what Han Hunter has provided to us.

And I do agree with Jango_Wes, you should have contacted Han prior to accusing him in public .

I personally think it is great that some peoples financial situation has caused them to "take the bull by the horns" and get creative and resourceful in their effort to acheive a great costume.

There are some out there that are offering their upgrades as a means of income rather than sharing their ideas and talents with the rest of the board and of course are looking to make a profit. Hey, I am all for Capitalism. With supply and demand-prices go up. But no one should get ticked off when someone chooses to not purchase their product and look for a cheaper means of acheiving the same effect. Nor is it wrong for them to share their finds and ideas. Heck, that is what makes this site great. I have had complete strangers PM me with constructive comments and ideas. That is why we are all here day after day. LOL

We have all seen prices on certain products here suddenly go up. We also know that labor has a value as well. No one has any type of exclusivity on any part of upgrade. It is a free market. If I am wrong in this, I hope one of the mods will correct me.

I personally look at some of these products offered and wonder why Hollywood hasn't snatched some of you guys up!!! LOL!

Thank your for your sentiments. By all means, it is your right to make a product and offer it to others. I dont want you to remove anything here. You really dont need to promote my product, that is NOT my intent here at all. There is room for both products in this hobby. I just didnt want to see a snowball effect that I have witnessed before.

For the others who told me to simmer down, you are making my point for me. You are saying Han Hunter is offering something cheaper for some, which is not true. You are continuing the exact argument that got me to post here in the first place.

I am not "ticked off" that somebody is making a product similar to mine. People here are chiming in with the "high price" statement, and I felt it necessary to correct. I wouldnt of even posted in this thread had my name not been brought up w/ incorrect info.

I simply asked not to have my name associated with the promotion of a competing product under false pretenses. I dont subscribe to this practice, and would hope nobody here would.

If it was a misunderstanding or poor wording, then I think we can all move along and get back to making props. HH, no hard feelings here!

Yes, I believe it will. Some required modifications thou...if you're handy with a dremel

My initial post could have perhaps been worded better, It was not my intention to suggest that your stuff was expensive, simply that (like with most things in this hobby) I have to watch the pennies and that led me to look at possible alternatives. This project is the result of one of those searches. I am still willing to re-word it should you so wish, as whilst it was innocently written, I can now appreciate it can be misconstrued. Sorry, dude.

Bobo - I appreciate your support and kind words, but Hyperdyne doesn't have to back anything up. people can check out his prices and see what's what for themselves, as I have urged them to do. Having said that, Bobafettish has done this for the benefit of the board and shown that Hyperdyne is correct in relation to the wireless set up. For *me* that benefit would be negated by the international shipping, which is one of the reasons I started this, as there is a wealth of talent and great products in the US (Hyperdyne, and many others), whereas they are a bit thin on the ground over here in blighty (UK). For those in the US, there is a price benefit to take into account in getting the HD wireless RF unit.

Bobafettish. Good work, hopefully people will ease off Hyperdyne, although I'm sure he doesn't need protecting, but there's no need to berate him for his thoughts or comments. I think he had a valid point and I would have possibly made the same one if the tables were turned. My initial post was potentially misleading and that was not my intention. I can't even afford my wireless version at the moment so I didn't actually look at the prices and compare them. Thanks for doing that BF

Mirax/MLC - I started mounting it in my MLC last night. I haven't seen the Jango MLC up close, but it's going well in the Boba, so far. You have to carefully remove the little spindle that the stalk pivots on, then drill your hole through there. I had to dremmel away a little of the surrounding curved area to allow the stalk to rotate freely, and flatten the inside of the hole (on the inside of the bucket) a little to the servo sat flush (there's acres of space in there, but it wobbled a bit). At that point my 2 month old son needed his bottle, so I'll do more later, probably Thursday night, or over the weekend, and get pics up. One other thing I noticed, though, was that the earcap that covers the RF stalk pivot point is solid and the attachment stands slightly proud, so it will need hollowing out a little to accomodate the pivot point.

I've edited the first post, but for those that missed it, I have sent it back for debugging and got it weighed and priced for international shipping whilst I was at the post office.

Airmail international shipping with a 5 - 7 days expected delivery time, in a padded bag will be $6. There is a better service with a tracking number, etc, but this is much more. I don't know how much more, but can find out if there is interest in it.

for those with multiple orders, it'll be an extra $3 per item after the first one (so 3 units shipped in the same package will be $12). For guys that live close to each other, I'm happy to combine shipping on the same basis, if it helps.

Still waiting for confirmation of the cost of including the wire for a switch (just the wire and connectors no switch), both made up and in kit form. I have chased him and will post when I get a response.
