Blaster Pre-Pro #2 Sling Gun build

With the amount of primer I need to smoothen the Shapeways prints, details like this faux screw head will inevitably be obscured. So I drilled out a recess to install a real cheese head screw at the appropriate time. As you can see, I've also prepared the receptacles for the mystery greeblies that I will replicate to the best of my abilities.

Worked on the stock today based loosely on these references.

Here's my attempt. Not quite sure what to do with the label yet though.

In the meantime, here's the other part of the body chilling under 2 heavy coats of primer.

Amazing work as always!

The top section that RafalFett 3D modelled, has it’s real world part been identified? Was it originally fabricated from scratch, or was it an existing piece that was modified/incorporated into the sling gun?

Thanks!

As far as I understand it, that whole body/frame/chassis was fabricated.

Calling the stock done...for now. I used blue painter's tape for the label as the color seems to be a close match, and applied white pastel over it. The white stroke is just correction fluid. The 4 characters in black are completely illegible so I may personalize it at a later time. This may not be the most accurate feature on this build, but I think this will suffice until someone can categorically verify its origin.

After a few rounds of discussions with Fett 4 Real and jbdubz , we sorta settled on the (possible) symbols on the stock as arrows and a dash. It was also agreed that they resided on a white rectangle (visible in reference photos of the Supertrooper and PP1 sling guns) that was sprayed over in blue.

Just for the heck of it, I replicated the blurred image to see how close I got against the reference. What do you think?

The final component for this build arrived, so maybe I will be able to finally complete this build. Bear in mind these are obviously not the actual greeblies used in the original prop, so I'm merely replicating a silhouette of the thing with airbrush nozzle and needle clamping nut. I scoured Ebay for weeks and simply picked these out because they kinda resemble the general shapes.

They are mated via a brass tube and the sharp end of an airbrush needle.

I still have to figure out a way to replicate the base of the nozzle.
