Yeah I've thought about stitching on the belt but here's the REALLY annoying thing. I can build gauntlets, belts etc from scratch, but I can't sew to save myself.
Weird hey
I thought I couldn't sew either, but the decorative stitching on belts and pouches is dead easy to do by hand, if a little time consuming! Take a ruler and line it up about 3/8" inside the edge of the pouch/belt whatever. then mark with a bradawl or similar holes every 1/8" all around the edge. Then take the bradawl again and make holes all the way round using the marks as a guide.
Then take some sturdy light grey thread and just go through the holes, up, across, down, across, up, across, down, across, until it's all the way round.
You now have stitches that are 1/8" long with a 1/8" gap in between each one and the next. Like this: - - - - - - - - -
Then go back the other direction, going up the holes you previously went down, and vice versa, so you have a line of continuous stitching. Like this ------------------
Repeat on other pouches and belt.
Like I said, it takes a long time, but there's nothing to it, skill wise.
Give it a go, you might surprise yourself. If you're unsure, try it on a test piece first, rather than your actual belt.
Good luck, and post pics when done.
