I don’t like getting involved in other people’s affairs, but GO get ‘em!
I recently bought some non-star wars items on Ebay and had two different sellers try to scam me. These items arrived in a condition that did not match the auction’s description. Unfortunately the one seller got away with it. S/he kept saying they were going to send me some replacements, but as soon as the time period for making a claim expired their end of the communications went dead. I wrote a long email to Ebay regarding the seller and the situation. I received an email saying “we’ll look into it” followed by a lot of canned/scripted advice. I don’t think anything was ever done.
When I dealt with the second seller I wasted no time. I gave this person a chance to put things right. I explained the situation to the seller and they more or less told me I was out of luck... NO refunds:angry. They then went on to say if I didn’t like the item, I should sell it to someone else (but then I’d be no better than they were). They also said PayPal nor Ebay would stand behind my claims. Well I immediately filed a claim with PayPal. It took awhile because PayPal needs you to communicate with the seller over monitored emails (to see if the two parties can work it out on their own). The seller started to get a bit nasty at this point. They basically called me a trouble maker, they found me a nightmare to deal with (even though I paid the full funds minutes after the auction ended) and they would block me from their other auctions (I was so disappointed with that one

). I escalated the claim and left it with PayPal to decide and guess what - - PayPal is getting my money back (fingers crossed)!
So the moral of the story is... Use caution with any seller (the bad ones out weight the good ones). Remember you're doing business with these people, if it starts smelling FISHY file a complaint with Ebay AND PayPal as soon as possible. You’ll sleep better.
Well that’s my two cents, good luck!
