How to cut up a tin can so it fits on your belt?

My mandalorian costume is coming along well, and I have some pics at the Mercs website....But something is driving me nuts: I have this tin can (actually a few) that I want on my belt, yet have no idea how to begin cutting it up. My mom is not going to be happy if I ruin her kitchen knives, so what do I use? It's about....5'' tall, and 2 '' wide, but remember, those are only estimations.
I would appreciate any help I could get. Thank you!

u could try a pocket knife, or some scissors, or a hacksaw or somin bro....hope i helped

Just so we all know, what are you intending on using the tin cns to create? Boba and Jango pouches are leather-like material, so you may be wasting your time trying to emulate the pouches with tin cans.
