Girth Belt Girth belt question - how to stop it curling?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone had any tips to stop my girth belt from curling inwards, and to keep the strings together in line and tight, as some of them seem to overlap eachother when I put it on. I'll attach a couple pics to show how it is curling. Any help would be much appreciated, cheers :)

I have never had or seen the issue with them curling up like that, but mine does have a tendency for some of the ropes to separate. I have not tried this yet, but I was contemplating gluing some thin craft foam along the inside of the girth belt to keep the ropes from separating. This may also help with the curling up problem you are having.

What material is your girth belt made of and what was it dyed with?

Thanks for the reply, the craft foam is a good idea. I bought the belt off Etsy a couple years ago and can't see the item page anymore annoyingly as the seller's no longer on Etsy. Maybe I could try uncurling it by wetting it and then clamping the top and bottom fully uncurled to give the material a new 'memory' so to speak as it dries.
