General ESB Sidearm Belt Attachment - Public Service Announcement

I'm still seeing ESB guys hanging the holster on the ammo belt (and getting a stretched out, droopy looking belt). RafalFett did some research a while back and created these photos, which we believe show the sidearm hanging on the harness (or diver's belt). This may not be news to some of you guys, but I just wanted to spread the word that there is a more accurate and secure way to hang your sidearm. You can see from other reference photos the loop for the holster goes under the ammo belt, not around it.



I don't take credit for these photos, it was all Raf.

I'm not sure of the practicality of costuming like this, because the diver's belt has to be positioned lower than guys normally wear it (under the ammo belt).

You could perhaps add an additional hidden belt under the ammo belt for these purposes.

Thanks for re-sharing those images. Here is another image that shows clearly that the loop goes under the ammo belt:



The ammo pouch flap is probably attached to the inside of the ammo belt with velcro (as seen in some of the exhibit images):



Note that in the exhibit image the belt pouch is sewn to the girth belt.

Mine is on my ammo belt mostly due to force of habit lol. BUT i added a snap on the back side of the holster loop. The adjacent snap is on my Jumpsuit. So the holsters weight isnt on the belt at all. Thats been working great for me. I have been thinking about putting it on the jetpack belt since i saw Raf's post a while back, but havent done it cuz im on auto pilot suiting up now LOL! ..i think i am gonna try and remember this next time.

I also managed to hide snaps on my actual girth to hold that up as well. I added them at the very top where there is alot of material on the 3 sections when the strands are attached to each other. The adjacent snaps, on the jumpsuit, so my girth doesnt slide down.

In addition, i also made loops of webbing with a snap on them wrapped around 2 strands of the girth, 2 on each side to attach the ammobelt to. So in essence, nothing can slide down or droop. After 3 troops without this stuff, i had to do something as everything was falling off of me as i walked. Since ive done these mods, never had that problem

I found the original thread after buying my holster, but this is a good reminder.
I don't like how it sags on the ammo belt. I might borrow some of Darth Voorhees ideas for keeping the belts in place or maybe run a nylon belt under the girth to keep both that belt and the holster in place. My harness sits higher, so I don't think that would work for me to hang it from there.

The one problem I see with it going onto the JP belt is that I don't think the loop on the holster is long enough.
Isn't that the top of the loop right where the ammo belt starts? I don't think it's long enough to go under it.

The loop is long enough. That's how I wear mine.

Was curious about this.....had thought about making a heavy duty nylon belt to fit under the ammo belt myself, with snaps on it.

Most likely they added an extra piece to get the length they needed for the holster to sit at the right position (easy to reach).

Is it it just me or on the top image if you look closely does the loop go around the top girth belt "braid" ? There doesn't seem like there is anything under the ammo belt as there is no bulge under it. I'm no expert but something I noticed!

Good questions, guys.

We can't really be sure what exactly is going on under those belts. We know the harness belt is definitely under the ammo belt. The Nemrod loop should be long enough for this to work.

Here is my set up compared to the real thing. The diver's belt is under the ammo belt, and the holster is looped onto it.

Now keep in mind the rubber straps on my holster are much thicker than real Nemrod straps.

I'm bring this thread back. So if the holster hangs from the jp harness divers belt, how long was the strap? I know for me there is no way to have the holster hang from that belt without the holster strap being really long (I'm 6'4").

What if I use a different style jet pack harness and there isn't a strap ?
