eFx's Mandalorian Helmet

Anti-fog perhaps? That's my best guess.
Yeah, I was thinking that as well... there is noticabke gap at the top of the visor that looks like it permits airflow through the lens/helmet... The visor is also very reflective with a rose colored tint... not sure if the dual visors help with the reflectivity? It is very easy to see out of, very clear visibility!

Maybe it's just me, but the metal finish looks off. Just looks like they painted it silver and then added a gloss clear coat. Am I wrong on that?
There does appear to be a gloss coat on it, but the paint underneath has some depth... looks different depending on the lighting... the cheek areas are filled out with weathering... matte finish

Looks amazing!!Any chance you could do some measurements?
Here’s some measurements (done with tape measure, couldn’t find my flexible tape)..
overall outer height - 10.5”
Overall outer width - 9.5”
Overall outer front to back - 10.5”
Interior front to back -9”
Interior width - 7.25”
Interior height -9”
Interior dimensions are with the lining in place... it looks like it’s removable (Velcro) but I don’t wanna try... Helmet comes with the usual Velcro pads to customize the fit... I wear a 7 1/4 hat (med/lg flex fit) and it fits very nicely...

Great thanks!-could you do the visor dimensions-like the edge of the helmet meets the visor (the T shape)? that will be all :)

Dimensionally it’s pretty close to my GMH (on the left) but actually feels roomier inside... I think it’s the shallower cheeks... FPH2 on the right is much bigger... both Fetts painted by the amazing Fett4Real!!

The visor tapers a bit... it’s slightly more than an inch in width at the base then 1.75” wide right at the spot where the t shape starts... the actual T is 6.25” tall and 7.5” across (linear... could measure the curve)

Here’s some pics of the helmet.

The ears do have a weird gap for some reason. I couldn’t tell how they’re attached, but from the inside it’s all fiberglass so it’s possible they were glued on.

Made in the USA, I really like that, but also means there’s room for human error. There are some dust spots on the helmet that Im trying to resist scratching off(lol), but the helmet is really nicely made overall.

One thing I noticed when I peeled back the padding was the out visor looks to be held on by hot glue. This doesn’t affect the integrity of the mandibles at all as the mandibles seem pretty sturdy.
The second internal visor can be removed as it’s attached via Velcro. It also comes with detachable padding that you can place inside for a snug fit.

Not keen on the weathering as it looks a bit much like rust but the paint job overall is really nice, with a nice, thick clear coat over it.

Thanks for the pics! Looks great! I wonder what the deal is with the ear gap. It's even featured on the prototype photos. EFX one appears to be flush from everything I've seen of that one.

Hmm, I was holding out for this helmet but for the price (and what is going on with the ear detail?) i am going to pursue a printed version that i can detail myself. Then i can only blame myself for build issues .

Hi All!

Sorry for not having introduced myself yet (if you excuse) as this is my first post.
Situated in Sweden and have pretty recently started collecting SW stuff and helmets in particular.

I also received my Anovos Mandalorian helmet recently and Im not too excited to be honest.
Sure it's a cool helmet, no dubt about it.
But..
My helmet is more to the black than silvery, has scratches on the visor, paint flaws on the lower right front-edge and several white "dust" particles stuck in the coating (as if they coated it in a very dusty environment)
Those of you that have received yours please let me know if you also have these issues with your helmet.
I have contacted Anovos several days ago with these issues but they haven't replied back.

Looking at pictures of the helmet in the series as well as some pics a user on rebelscum posted on his Anovos helmet they all look identical (marked)
My helmet doesn't look the same at all.
Completely different.
And the color is just so totally off

I too also have noticed more and more dust specks on my helmet. You figure for a big company painting helmets in bulk, that they would go all out and purchase a nice painting station to reduce the risk of dust, but each and every helmet ive seen has dust specks. This leads me to believe it may actually be due to clogged paint guns and not actually dust.

Also, Yeah it looks like your helmet skipped a painting stage and went straight to the clear coat. Something that is worrisome is what another member mentioned, that Anovos may use the excuse "these are hand painted... each helmet will be unique", and may deny an exchange because of this.

From the Anovos web listing for The Mandalorian helmet:

"This The Mandalorian helmet is the first offering from our craftsmen at our brand new stateside manufacturing facility. Because we own the manufacturing facility we can implement a more artisan “hands-on" approach to the manufacturing process. This allows for careful oversight of each product’s production cycle to help ensure your expectations of accuracy and quality are faithfully met."

If they claim that my helmet represents "accuracy and quality faithfully met" I dont know what.

Some of the helmets are on the darker, more gun metal, side. I do agree though, it probably should have been brought up a good bit in tone. I will also say, they must be using a VERY cheap metal paint just judging by the size of the flake. The fact that you can see the individual particles? Yeah.. that’s not too good. With a good metal paint like Alumaluster or Spaz Stix you have to get inches away from the surface to even begin to pick out the flakes.

I would tend to agree with MinuteFett, that the bits in the clear don't look like a dust issue, it looks like improper spray gun maintenance.
Dust in the clear coat is unfortunately something that happens pretty frequently. If you look at the screen used helmets you can find dust and on one helmet there are even fisheyes all along the front of the piece. That is not to excuse Anovos here, I do believe that the surface, whether it is dust or cured clear from the gun, is beyond what can or should be expected in the surface and should not have passed quality control.

I also have no idea how people aren’t removing that awful weathering immediately.

I really hope eFX does a better job finishing their helmets.

Yes, I also put my hope in eFx's version.
But as their helmets are being shipped from China and with the Corona virus spreading like madness, we'll probably have to wait for them.

Just the fact that Anovos seized answering my emails ever since I addressed my issue makes me somewhat suspicious they're not playing it right.
They've always answered my emails within a day or two prior to this.

I contacted EXF over a loose range finder on the boba fett helmet and they will not help. Hoping not to have any issues with the Mandalorian helmet. I wouldn’t worry about coronavirus spreading through the helmets. The virus will be dead (if it’s on them) by time it hits the US. I just worry about timing, the virus delaying shipping.
