Boba Fett SE Promo Shot WIP

I haven’t really thought about it. I was honestly probably gonna let my dog play with it bc he goes nuts over that thing:lol: if someone wants to buy it and attempt to repair it I have no problem selling it but I will say it’s not going to be an easy job to completely hide.
How much would it be?

So question, anybody have any pictures of how they’re attaching the backplate to the shoulders. I have a system now with screws going into the silver squares but Im sure there’s a more efficient way than what I’m doing. Just curious to see what some other builds have done

This might help. I dont have my Fett anymore but I used this thread and it helped me.

Bumping so other can comment with pics.

Gotcha. I used the jewelry attachment for the armor but didn’t even think about using it for connecting the back and shoulders. That would definitely be more efficient than what I have going on now.

Good question. I’m not 100% sure I was just going to be extra careful with the next one. Maybe fiberglass reinforcement wouldn’t hurt.
The helmet you see in my profile pic is a Bobamaker helmet. I will check the thickness when im home but from handeling it over the years, I always had the impression that it was considerably thicker.
Maybe you could weigh the broken helmet with all the bits and pieces to get an idea of the weight. Both helmets being fiberglass and painted, that should give a rough estimation of the amount of fiberglass used. We'd have to factor in (out) the missing rangfinder though as well as helmet interiour but everyone can calculate that out so we'll arrive at some useful info.

Since I dont wanna spam your wip thread with another topic, I've created an extra thread:

To answer your question about the collar to backplate attachment, this is what I and many others utilize. The diagram is from Rafalfett along with a pic.

Just a small update but I ordered machine craft replicas metal studs as I just wasn’t sure the resin ones were going to hold up. Also got a replacement helmet ordered. Should be here next week and I’ll have an update with what route I’m taking in that direction. Had a couple hiccups there but I think things are straightening back out now.

Yay!!! can't wait to see how this goes!

Awesome news!

I'm glad you've found a replacement bucket!! Don't let that hiccup get you down just take this mistake as a lesson and learn from it. I can't wait to see more progress pics of your build!

So a little update today, replacement bucket came in. Here’s what I’m going with. It’s an EFX lid that I’ll modify to fit 501st standards. I think the EFX helmets are beautiful, and for the price gets you pretty darn close. I’ll be filling the seem, removing some “poop stains” from the back, correcting the paint job in a number of places, adding the thumbprint and SE damage. Installing hard hat liner, and fans, and most likely fiberglassing the inside as I’m slightly paranoid now. Overall I’m blown away with the quality out of the box and sitting on my dresser it really looks like a finished Fett helmet. This’ll be a little bit of a project but overall not bad and I’m confident I can meet 501st standards. Here’s some shots I grabbed in my bedroom, lightning is poor but there’s pictures of these EFX helmets everywhere now.

So awesome! Congrats on the new lid!

Pretty sick bucket dude I'm glad you have a replacement and I can't wait to see some progress on your whole build!

Jetpackfett considering you needed a bucket fast, you made a wise decision. The paint on the EFX is amazing! For what needs to be corrected, you can take a look at superjedi s post giving a complete review of the helmet.

As far as the modifications go, im really interested how you are going to do those. :)

Hope everyone’s having a great May 4th so far, and thoroughly enjoyed the conclusion of clone wars as much as I did. Pretty big update today as I was able to do my first partial suit up! Got the studs in from MachineCraft last week and got the hard hat liner mounted in the helmet so I had to throw everything on. I didn’t have my jet pack harness on so the alignment was slightly off and I decided not to throw on the girth as the cod isn’t finished yet. Just really waiting on my flight suit from Carole now, these Vader pjs will do for now though:lol: still need to get jetpack hooks, and finish up a couple of things but it’s really coming together!
