Whats the most common material people use for their boba fett ROTJ boots, both soles and uppers. any good tuts out there on creation?

I'm toying with the idea of making my own boots, but I can't find any templates, tutorials, or even examples of home-made boots.

I am frustrated I am trying to find a thread I saw of a guy that made the boots using work boots and I thought NO WAY that is going to look like garbage, and it turned out awesome. Now I can't find it I will and I will post a link here if I can.
