Other Bounty Hunter Ailyn Vel - WIP

Bottom line up front: I wanted to start this thread to share my wife's progress on her Ailyn Fett costume and collect any input/recommendations from the folks I trust most when it comes to costuming. Let me know what you've got, and I'll pass the word to her.

Ever since we booked the hotel for our first Dragon*Con next year my wife has been bitten with the cosplay bug, and while she isn't looking for anything to submit for 501st/RL approval (yet) I was surprised when she showed interest in putting together an Ailyn Vel costume. I was even more excited by the fact that come early 2014 I should be putting the final touches on my Fett. At any rate, I tried to dig around here and some other places and showed her the few pictures I could dig up.

After showing her everything I could find she came up with an idea for a somewhat modified version of the first photo. She had previously been thinking about a fem-Han Solo costume, so this wasn't too far of a leap. My only request was that she should dirty everything up and give it a classic Star Wars feel.

I was surprised when she found and bought these cargo pants for just over $20+shipping.

No progress on this one yet. Pretty soon after this she went a little OCD and started a fem Han Solo and a fem-mando. The Han is almost done, but I think the mando is going to take her some time. Hey guys!

I finished my Han Solo costume a while ago and I'm almost done with my mando kit, so I figured I would post my progress on Ailyn Vel. There's not much left to do, but I probably won't finish it for another few months because I'm working on four different costumes for upcoming DragonCon (yeah...I have a lot to do!).

I found this leather jacket on the clearance rack at Old Navy:

I'll add stripes along the sleeve and collar flaps.

I'm going to use the belt, holster, and blaster from my Han Solo costume:


I just need a black wig, black lipstick, a blue tank top, and blue cargo pants (which I'll sew myself) to complete it!
