I found this mic/amp setup on ebay and bought one. It is very loud and compact 1"x2 1/2"x3 5/8" with a 30" cord.If you look at the pic the housing around the mic tip goes inside the gasmask but the mic will come out of the piece. It cost $9.95 and the shipping was free! just wanted to share the find for those who need one. It doesnt distort like the toy ones do either. takes a 9 volt battery. I'm not providing a link to the site but I will tell you what to search for "star wars stormtrooper vader mask helmet voice amp new!"

I dont think I'm breaking any rules since I own the one I took the pic of?

I have one of these and they are ok. The biggest problem with them is the mic isn't a plug in type, so if you want a different mic you have to hard wire it.

Got mine last week. Shipping was fast, just a couple of days. Works pretty good too. Was drinving the dog crazy last night trying it out.

Already took it apart and will be modding it with a phonejack to be able to swap out the microphone with a headset. The mic pugs into the PC board. If I can find the right plug I won't even have to cut any wires.

Thank you for the tip.

I've got one of these and I changed the mic to a plug in style. With some minor soldering, it's a snap to install a headphone jack.

I've been using mine for about a dozen or so troops now, and it's pretty decent. I've since come across an amp that's just a tad smaller, comes with a plug in style head set and is more powerfull at 10amps.

Mine´s on the way too, was sent today.

It´s good to know I don´t have to a 100++ $ to get a decent voice module for my helmet. :)

Considering its intended use, inside the confined space of a respirator, and that it is a unidirectional mic. it is not too surprising. Hopefully it will be ok with an good omnidirectional mic. installed. Now to find a Radio Shack that actually has one in stock.

It doesn't seem to work like a standard lapel
mic. You almost have to be swallowing it for it to pick up sound! ***
