actual TESB Ammo belt - leather or vinyl?

I always assumed the pouches were thick leather- like the belt. Is this correct? I think it is spidy fett that has the exception tutorial using vinyl. Booba Fett makes a great looking belt with thick leather. Is it known for sure what the original TESB belt was made of? I heard years ago that the TESB costume was lost or stolen. Is this true?

I believe the original belt was white vinyl. (look at pics of the supertrooper) It was colored to resemble leather on the versions of the costume that were made later. In some photos of the the actual belt taken during exhibits you can see white "weathering" this is where the paint is probably flaking off. Hope this helps!

ammo belt was vinyl. TESB costume was not stolen... it was repainted and reworked into one of the now existing ROTJ costumes.

How is it known for certianty that it was vinyl? If it began as a white ammo belt and was painted or dyed brown, how is that the stitching remained white? If it were leather and the stiching a plastic poly fiber, I could see the paint or dye not coloring the stitching. there are close ups of the actual fett belt in the tutorial section. Yes it began as a white material. seems odd to have been died before assmebly. I saw the real costume years ago, but didn't pay that close attention to the belt.

Some one who knows more about the prepro suit could chime in here... but I think there is no stitching an early version. You'd have to look at some reference photos.
