Helmet A TRUE ILM lineage Jango Fett paint up in metal cold cast Wip

I have recently acquired fettprides molds for Jango fett taken directly off a casting from the original molds used to make the real movie helmet. Any thing available till now have been at BEST 4th of 5th gen and because of that much smaller helmets. This one actually fits on your head properly lol. I cast this one up in high quality fiberglass cold cast. It only took five minutes and buffed it out nice with some steel wool. I will give it a more better polish once the paint is done. Here it masked up and primed, I also have the first color on but still need to get a pic with the first color. More to come...

FP has sold a few Jango molds over the years the originals were sold to some one else a while ago, , casts from these molds are on par with the Bobamakers Jango and Asok original Gelcoat molds generationally speaking that is,

Casts from the actual original mold made in Fox Sydney had been available for a while

Oh really? I take exception to that. Actually, 'Bentley O'Toole', sold several Jango helmet molds over the years passing them off as 1st and 2nd gen fox australia molds. One of which I bought many years ago and re-sold to a former member here in 2010 (with full disclosure). What Animefan purchased from me recently is an earlier gen mold than Mr. O'toole ever had his hands on. One who's provenance was substantiated on this very forum nearly 8 years ago. Nevertheless, that's two molds total I have sold. Checking facts might be a good idea around here before making posts in such a matter of fact way. Otherwise, it implies I've been up to the same tricks as Mr. O'toole, and I don't appreciate that.

Uhm? No. Again, please get your facts straight before shooting from the hip like that. Even their two molds are very different from one another.

Thank you.

Right, so you didnt make these molds, just out of interest what color is the silicon,
Who made them an who did you get them from, specific names,
All Jango helmets in Fan hands are Fathered from the preproduction waste mold that u used to own that was the original mold taken from Fox when the waste molds were being destroyed every thing else is made after the fact
Its possible to see these casts are from a later gen mold many tells that point to that,

same tricks as Otool, Vader molds as made from a Proto, cast, Proto casts were not released like the Fett helmet because they didnt need to get outside artist's to paint them being they were just painted black,,

A TRUE screen cast Jango Fett paint up in metal cold cast Wip

Prepro2-

The mold this thread was started about was made by me. Rebound25. Orange. Maybe I should have been more specific. The helmet master this mold came from, is what was being referred to as 'earlier'. The mold itself was never sold as an authentic fox Australia mold, but a mold made of an earlier fox casting than anything O'toole was ever associated with. My 'original' master mold (fox) is still, and will always be in my possession. I paid a king's ransom for it. Though, none of this is really your business. But for posterity, here is an excerpt from my original response to the sale to anime fan referring to my fox mold, and the mold clearly for sale ...

However, this mold, (the real first gen), was not made to withstand production of any duty for selling to the masses, and remains to this day an artifact in my own collection. The few helmets I've made over this last 10 years, came from a mold I made off of a single casting that came from this artifact, constituting a second gen mold. The second generation mold is what Im offering for sale.
In regard to the Vader molds you speak of. Again, checking your facts is paramount. It was an early MR prototype helmet used to show off at conventions to generate interest. Long before their eventual release to the masses with imperfect paint jobs. Perhaps prototype is too strong of a term. However, still a much earlier casting in their production lineage and therefore generally referred to this way. If you meant 'fox' prototype, that is incorrect and it was never represented so foolishly. I sold the molds I made of this piece to anime fan, with lineage described exactly as it was described to me when I paid for the privilege to mold them.

Now, I'm not exactly sure what your beef is with me, but I've noticed your attempts to bait me. It seems clear what your intent is now (accusing me of misrepresenting these molds in my sales), and I'm not up for playing those kinds of games these days. It's just not worth it anymore. People will like these helmets, or they won't. There will most certainly be side by side comparisons posted by folks at some point. It's the same helmet I produced in very limited quantity for several years and decided to pass it on to someone who has more time to produce them, because I just don't.

What I will say that I don't necessarily agree with is the title of the thread. Perhaps Animefan should tone that down a touch considering the fact that although the original fox mold did produce the SU helmet, castings from this mold or any other in the same family are technically not SU castings. A case of chicken or the egg, if you will. For example, a boba helmet cast from an original ILM mold, couldn't be referred to as a screen cast, because it wouldn't have a paint job yet to distinguish it, but if a mold was taken from a hero helmet from either movie directly (second gen), then it would become a screen cast). But otherwise is what he says it is and that's all I really want to say. I fought this fight in 2005, and was temporarily 'banned' for possible misrepresentation and reinstated after it was legitimized. Not going to go through it again.

Oh man, Thanks and sorry Chris, thought I keep it simple and to the point. I guess it was an inevitable. I did get I little to excited with the original title.

Now that Chris has cleared every thing up I would expect any ones else's posts to be kept to the appreciation of this helmet casting and its hopefully good paint job Thank you.

Is there a thread with information on the lineage/origin of the Jango moulds? and/or who sells casts of what specific generation..?

I don't have any interest over personal debates, I am just very interested to learn more, as I've never come across such a thread during my vigorous research.

Thanks,
Brendan

Man Chris, people love to try to make you look bad. Is it really important to have such a detailed lineage of a helm? As far as I'm concerned, as long as it looks good, is of good quality, and can get 501st approval, then that should be good enough.

This is not pointed to anybody who has posted in the thread or owns the board.

To some people, yes. I do know a person who does not like the people who troop and only buys items that are screen cast. He also wants only 1st or maybe 2nd gen old and sees almost anything that is not screen cast as ****.

To me as long as it looks good, I don't care if it's screen cast or not.

I agree. To each is own or something like that. I'm a big fan of someone making a helmet from complete scratch just looking at reference photos. To me that's pure art at its finest. Would I like to stick my head in a helmet used in the movie? Heck yes but they belong in a museum.

Animefan I'm not a big Jango fan but you have a nice looking helmet there sir.

Yes as asok said to some people thats all they care about. To me its kind of like owning a peice of history and a part of the film. Its the next best thing to owning the original.

Awesome looking helmet. If I ever need an upgrade, I know where I'm going to!
Thank you.

I agree the light blue is too light. What colors did you use?

The two blue colors do not contrast each other as much as they appear to in these pics.

I don't mind the light blue myself but I agree that the contrast betwqeen the two blues is too great & the darker of the two has a bit of a green undertone to it based on the photos & toys /masks I have seen. It could be the lighting but I am reading too much purple in the darker blue. Looks great though, very clean job!
