3D Gauntlets

I have modeled this up & did custom sized set for a member in my Garrison. He has some extremely large fore arms. But I tried to keep proportions correct but due to size had to make some mods. Some photos compared to my Jodo Kast gauntlets which were also 3D printed. So it can be done. To give you some perspective on size, the opening on the right gauntlet is roughly the diameter of a large butter tub.

Has anyone had a problem printing this gauntlets? Two different computers. S3d and Cura both render the top layer missing. No matter what orientation I place the model at, the “top” layers that are parallel to the bed are missing. It’s not a top layer height issue. Or infill.

Yeah, and it didn't find any errors. Turns out that the STL file actually contains two separate objects that are not connected. Simplify3d wasn't a fan, but I ran the "separate connected surfaces" command and that fixed it up for me. New part is printing now.

I tried the “separate connected surfaces” in s3d but that didn’t separate it at all. How did you fix this problem of two separate halves?
