Ammo Belt Help

So the ESB ammo belt I have is just too small for me by a few inches. When I wrap it around the two ends of the belt "touch" but I need them to be able to overlap in order to Velcro the belt closed.
Any ideas on how I can extend the length of the belt and still have it look correct ?

The ammo belt should be all one piece. Depending on where you got it from, I would ask the maker for a different size and see if they will exchange. You can take all the pouches off, you just need the band.

If the maker won't switch or that's not even an option the 1st thing that comes to mind for me is if the 2 ends touch you might be able to make a piece of fabric with velcro sewed on opposite sides to connect the two ends something like this...

That's right. FEAR my MS Paint skillz lol.

Another possibility would be to maybe expand the belt behind the ammo pouches? Depending on how they are attached or sit on there if they slide around or not they may be able to be fixed where they hide the expansion work.

thanks guys.
i'll shoot the vendor a message and see if he'll switch them out. I already weathered the belt though so I'm not sure if he will.
if not maybe like you said I can extend it behind the ammo belt or something

Extended both sides behind the pouches would work and wouldn't be visible

Off the top of my head I would say equal pieces of material in length and the same width as the belt and materiel if possible . Two pieces for each side one for the back and one at the front so they sandwich the original belt, then maybe rivets , you can buy hand riveting tools for fabric or sew them together but I think the material maybe to thick to see by hand . Unless you have acces to a sewing machine

Yes, I'd do it so there was a short length on each side, hidden by the pouches. Since it has the potential to be more comfortable that way, I may do it to mine!

yeah I'm thinking that's the way to go. so I would cut the belt behind where the pouches will be set and then extend from there ?

yeah that's what I'm gonna do. and since I'm working on losing some more weight I can always keep the extensions and just Velcro the back further down. Right ? lol

My Stormtrooper utility belt was about an inch too short. so I took a 3" X 2" piece of sticky velcro and stuck the fuzzy side and the hook side together to make a little shim. It works great! Fortunately my Thermal Detonator covers it all so it isn't noticed. I've ordered a longer belt, but in the meantime this works. Not sure if it will work in your situation but maybe it will get you through until some of the Holiday weight gain is lost.

Thanks. Yeah the Stormtrooper armor isn't that forgiving for gaining lbs. I gained a few over Xmas and that's when I really started noticing the belt problem. Hey if costuming is motivation for losing and maintaining weight loss, i'll take it (y)

yeah very true. well i'll either do what you did only i'll use a dark brown extension piece instead of white, OR i'll do what you did but behind my ammo pouches like people are suggesting. think i'll be alright either way and still look accurate.
