All nice and white. Tomorrow will be the masking and all the major color application. I did the thrusters in #147 because I felt that even the base white of hot thrusters should be "cooked" and be darker than the body to receive that bit of extra wear.
Awesome! Thanks guys! I'm glad this was useful to you or anyone else. If you have any questions about the colors or process feel free to ask since I've been getting a little less descriptive as I go along (cuz I'm lazy)
Yellow down, had to mix a little #32 in there to match the tone of the shoulders and knees a bit. Black accents down, touch ups and decals needed. Grey down on the rocket base, and on we go!
It is so hot out here though... 100 degrees is not fun for me. Gonna take a break and have a nice tall icy glass of water. Phew!
Boom Baby! I am beyond excited with how the jet pack came out. I thought it wasn't coming out just right for the longest time but a little bit of diligence and a pound of elbow grease and I think I'm finally happy with it. What do you guys think? Any improvements?
This paint-up made me fall in love with Rotj and I am damn proud I went with it rather than ESB. Had so much fun painting this!
Thanks! I'm making my Fett with a lot of mileage on him because intergalactic bounty hunting is dirty business. Might be a little darker than references in some spots but I like the depth of the tones when seen from a distance.
I feel so honored! I don't know what to say, but hard work pays off.
I got too excited and wanted to see how the whole thing was complimenting itself so I took the mandatory bed spread photo. Shin tools and helmet are left. Still have to fix the green on the ab plate. Might weather the flight suit and vest a little bit more... Not sure yet.
I received with my kit what I believe is a rig to wear the jet pack, but BM's jet pack has slits in it rather than metal hooks like the screen used one. A bit confused on the application on it tbh.
Shin tools are about done. A little darker on the sonic beam squeegee since the most dirt and grime buildup would most likely happen in the shin pockets. There's "rust" in there but not sure if you can see it.
