WIP ROTJ Fett

Hey everyone, I decided to bite the bullet and update my ROTJ Boba. For the past 7-8 years I have been building a life size mannequin for my collection room, but now I have got the itch to join the 501st. Pretty sure more weathering and adjustments are needed before I can submit to 501st.This is what I have so far:
Helmet-Animefan
Armour-bought from Dented Helmet but new armour ordered from Minutefett
Flight suit-Arkady
Pouches-Arkady
Flak Vest/Neck seal-Mow, but new ones on order from Arkady
Gloves-Imperial Boots
Boots-bought off the Dented helmet not sure of the maker
EE-3 Blaster-Stormrider
Belt-built by friend
Shin Tools-from member on Dented Helmet
Jet pack-not sure of maker bought from Dented Helmet
Girth belt-bought from the Dented Helmet
Cape and Wookie braids-Woodman

Hey.
Not a ROTJ builder myself, but I am pretty sure that the flight suit has to be white / light grey. Yours seems to be more like an ESB medium/blue grey.

Yah I think it’s supposed to be light grey with a tinge of blue, I’m not 100% sure either. Probably going to lighten it up but don’t want to go too light lol.

Well the CRL image doesn't have a touch of blue. On some pictures from the movie or the commercial, it's even hard to the different between the suit and the off-white flak vest (pelnty here : EXT. SKIFF - Image Galleries - Boba Fett Fan Club)

I agree I think my flight suit needs to be lighter, but when you look at some shots from the movie you can definitely see a hue ofblue in the suit, trying to get the right shade is difficult. Not sure to just bleach the suit then re dye it or just lighten.

gotta go with the 'hero' image of ROTJ, forget CRL and those images of the stunt version of boba.
you can see the flight suit was a very light blue that's faded, see thigh pouches and as you get closer to the shoulder armor,
the light blue shows up more.....the whole thing is weathered brown

So should the suit be bleached the re dye or just lighten and weather with brown.

The ROTJ flightsuit is the ESB flightsuit. It’s just faded and more washed out. More heavily weathered too.

I’ll probably get some Rit colour remover to fade the suit if it goes to light than I will dye it to the right colour.

Yah I’ll probably just get so Rit Color remover and fade it bit by bit until I get the right shade.

Yah I have another package of RIT Color remover going to do another round tomorrow hopefully that gets it to where it needs to be.

Did another round of trying to lighten the flight suit, doing it a bit by bit. Seems to change shade depending on where I take the photo not sure if I’m going to lighten it more or try weathering it to see how it looks.

I think I finally got the flight suit to the colour I need now it’s time to weather and finish painting the gauntlets.

My machined studs from Quest Industries arrived on Friday along with rangefinder electronics, more weathering done to the helmet and proper visor installed. Rangefinder removed and working on installing the electronics.

Rangefinder lights now installed, waiting on my Minutefett armor to be delivered. He originally sent my the wrong armor said he was going to send out the correct armor immediately by UPS, but it has been sitting in label created since December 29. Super frustrating just can’t wait to get the armor since he does really good work and I can’t wait to work on it.

Don't bleach the suit. if you do decide to go the route of re-dying it, use RIT dye remover instead of bleach. Bleach will sometimes prevent the dye from working when you re-dye it. The dye remover is decent if you just want to lighten it as well. Just do a quick bath and removal before it starts to suck all the color out. Also, don't panic if it turns yellow initially. I freaked out when re-doing my PP2 suit a while back. Good luck!
