WIP - 1:1 Stan Winston Style Velociraptor Head Sculpt

I just thought I'd share my latest project after "finishing" my Boba Fett.

Here are some of the latest pictures:









This is my first time sculpting anything since art class in grade school, so does anyone have any helpful tips/tricks/critiques? I'm trying my best to gather as much information as possible while I do this.

Wow! It looks great so far! I think you should (if not already) start a thread on the RPF too, because that place if full of talented sculptors and will help you with all the valuable info you need. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the compliments guys, got a few hours of sculpting in today.



The upper part of the head is now basically finished.

Getting very close to finished with this sculpt.





I've decided to make a few casts in PlatSil Gel-10 with or without soft expanding polyfoam filling, if anyone would be interested in buying one.

Ended up changing the neck texture some time ago


Then came the saddening part:

Now I just have to wait for payday so I can afford some silicone to try a cast.
